Does anyone in Ontario know where I can get a handlebar mount for the Garmin Etrex? I can't find a place in the Oshawa/Whitby area that carries them.

I was looking at the Ram mount at Bass Pro shops and thought because of the design with the ball pivot it might not work well on a sled. Is there a way to tighted it down so it doesn't move or was I looking at a different model. Thanks Jason

Actually I haven't bought a mount yet, but when I do I think I am going to go with the Ram mount as well and then mount it on the handle bar or maybe between the gauges.

Do you have any problems with your GPS screen fading when it real cold out, I want to put mine in a similiar spot but with the X windshield it seams like it would be right in the wind stream.

yes, but a riding buddy of mine put a hand warmer unit on the back of the gps mount, and that solved the problem....so thats what im going to doo this year...also put a piece of foil between the mount and the warmer, he had trouble with th plastic melting a little

You might look into lithium batteries. They are good for -40 F. A little spendy but work real good. I have a wireless thermometer and have used it for 2 years and still are working...

I found out the Durham Radio in Whitby sells Garmin stuff & they had the bar mount for the Etrex units in stock. Works great.

Found mine a Walmart (Ottawa) down in the sports section. Couldn't believe it. CT has nothing.

I got my Garmin handle bar mount at Tromblys in Orillia. Both Candaian Tire and Walmart in Barrie sell Garmin and can order the mount.

My GPS doesn't do real well in the cold when ice fishing. Always shuts off.
