Thats great news on your new horse.Quarter horses are a wonderful breed, very quiet and dependable.
I use them in my lesson program.
I have had a very busy horse summer. One of my students made the Canadian team and will travel to PA to take on the Americans in September.
We primarily have German bred horses and we travel to Germany to purchase them, they are used for dressage.
This is my horse with my husbands daughter riding him.
He is a Hannoverian.

I love horse, with ketchup, yum! :D

J/K :p

We had them when I was a kid and I was the slave that had to take care of them.
I enjoy watching others on them, or watching the horses just be horses when together in a field, but I was burned out by them at a young age, so no desire to own one anymore.

When I was a wee lad my grandfather put me up on 1 of his clydesdales that he had. Unfortunately we never had a camera out in the barnyard to take my picture :( .

Then when I was out in the Golden, BC area in '95 & '98 we went horseback riding in the mountains. That was really nice seeing the scenery @ a slower pace.

had 3 apps that are only quarter horses with a couple spots above the stifle. anyways they were quiet and my daughter was invited to the world championship in texas a few years when she used to ride. university is taking her time now and the money for school is less believe it or not.

u can call them that or hay burners. either way i dont like em. :cussing: biggest problem i have is the crap everywhere and the holes they did in the trails. some people just have no respect and decide to take them a nicely groomed sled trail.

my hatred started with my ex girl friend and her horses. she was a very spoiled girl and thought it was ok to see her horse for 8 hours everyday. that didnt bother me till the snow started flying and when i wanted to go sleddin' she would get all pi$$ed off cuz i didnt spend time with her. pfft, women they're all trouble anyways!! :dazed: although she was an extremely good rider she just didnt understand how i felt about my sled. she was just jealous cuz i sweet talked my sled more than her. :D

I would have a lot more money for sledding...BUT I still am a horse crazy gal!
It is actually a good mixture...horses and sledding.During the winter I ride but do not have competitions on weekends so it is much easier for me to get time to do non horsey things...which happens to be sledding.

I had my first snowmobile fall last year....when it was over I thought...wow that wasnt as bad as falling off a horse!
