: My Best Riding Buddy Will Be Sorely Missed
RacerX408 08-06-2004, 06:49 PM my best riding budd took his life on monday. i guess the stress of this world was too much to handle. he will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and his sleds. he just turned 20 and had a full life ahead of him. he had everything going for him and nobody can understand why he did this. i keep trying to understand what could be so bad when you're 20 to take your own life. :( ill miss all the crazy times we had sleddin' and doin other crazy stuff, and i know there's unlimited snow where he is now. keep that sled to the bar buddy, we'll all be thinkin' of ya!! there's a special place on my sled that's gunna have your name in rememberance.
u never realize how serious suicide is untill someone close to u actually goes through with it. that blink182 music video makes a lot of sense right now....
RacerX408 08-06-2004, 06:54 PM he had a quick finger on the trigger of the camera and was the best photographer i knew. too bad i wasnt as good as him. :)

paul yarek 08-06-2004, 09:26 PM that is a tough time for kids that age. trying to figure out what they want to do with their life.
permafrost 08-06-2004, 09:30 PM Very sorry to hear of the loss. Little do they know of the pain they leave behind. The stress that people have to deal with these days is so overwhelming. It is the cause of MANY ailments that people suffer from, physical and mental. Depression is a big one and effects so many of us. Most people never get it treated as it is somewhat shunned upon in society today whereas people get physical problems treated promptly. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends in this time of sorrow.

that blink182 music video makes a lot of sense right now....
"I never conquered when it came, tomorrow just held such better days, days when i still felt alive, couldn't wait to get out side. "
It is a very relevant song to times like this, since they had the same type of happenings.
RIP and Godspeed.

Mikadoo 08-07-2004, 12:53 PM Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
I have a 19 year old daughter that I often worry about in this way because of the wild a crazy things that go on in her life and do to the fact that my grandmother and father both commited sucide so maybe its in the genes.
Time is your only way to heal the wounds so hang in there and remember the good times.
If you ever find yourself angry at your friend for doing what they say is the "cowards" way out, dont, only if you have been their yourself can you understand what really goes thru ones mind.
Give my condolences to the family.......

trailblazer 08-08-2004, 12:30 PM My thoughts and prayers are with you Racer and Steve's Family and Friends.
I deal with this sort of thing in my line of work and it's never easy on anybody. I just spent 17 continuous hours with an individual before I had him convinced to go and admitted in a safe place this week. That was a 21 hour work day but definitely worth the end result.
If anyone reading this is ever feeling so hopeless that they can't see any other way to deal with a terrible situation, I strongly urge you to reach out and call your local crisis line, your hospital emergency room, your family doctor, etc. There is no need to suffer in silence. There always is a better way. There always is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's just sometimes we need help in seeing it.
Jeff

Yes what he said!!! Also remember it's always darkest before the dawn. I've been to a place where I thought there was no way out. But lo and behold once you get your head on straight you will find it hard to believe that things were ever that bad.
RacerX408 08-08-2004, 02:46 PM it's hard to understand how things could be that bad but if you're not in that situation then it's hard to see where people are coming from. thanks again everyone, it's been good to get things out and have everyone reply with such sympathy. SWRules
jtkennedy9 08-08-2004, 04:41 PM My prayers for you, your family and friends Racer. Sorry to hear about your loss.

FlyingDutchman 08-08-2004, 08:31 PM Add my condolences to family and friends for this tragic loss. My family too has been touched by this tragedy called suicide in the past. It certainly leaves one with more questions than answers. Understanding it may be impossible, but living the memories is possible. Ride on with him in your memory, I'm sure he would want it that way.
SledHead 08-08-2004, 08:32 PM Sorry man, thats really to bad to loose someone that you cared and trust about!

snow_bone 08-09-2004, 01:00 PM May God be with you and the family of your friend. I too have delt with suicide, in and outside of my family, and it devastates everyone around them. Pray for him and his family often. Keep good thoughts of him.
spikegary 08-09-2004, 01:03 PM Guys,
For those that have been affected by it, or know somoene that has-there is help out there. Please try and learn the signs-even your closest friends can tell you what they are feeling and you might not understand what they are trying to say. More often than not, a suicide attempt is a last call for help-often understood only after it is too late to act on.
Look at this website: Click Here (http://www.suicideprevention.com/do/Home)
You might be the difference between losing and keeping your friends.
Racer-I'm so terribly sorry for your loss and his parents/family.
Gary

Takes guts to jump an F Mach Z like that. Jawz used it as his Avatar for awhile. You should use it for a bit or put it in your signature as a tribute.
