they are going to lay low with that stuff for a little because of reasons not needed to be discussed.

because ski-doo wants their new ride to be the fastest i am sure they will be the last to let their information out for the competition to scrutinize.

I dont think that I ever remember SD advertising HP numbers. Im sure it wont be long before Dynoport or someone else drops the hat on the numbers.

so is this thing gonna beat the F7's or what?

I am sure taking on the Fusion is no prob.

Do you guys think the new Mach Z, Fusion, and the F7 are gonna be pretty close? I own an '03 F7 and I love it. Got beat last year by another F7 with mods but that was about it.

Depends on what you mean by close. I assume the F7 will most likely remain as the low end monster to beat. I have a buddy with an F7 who smokes just about anything in the first 100 feet. After that, bigger cc sleds can eventually overtake him on the top end. I think the F7 is intentionally geared that way. But I love his F7, awesome sled. With 165hp and the things I've read so far, I would imagine the 05 Mach Z will be the fastest top end stock sled out there. Not sure where the Fusion will fall into all this. Its sort of unproven until the season starts. Without a doubt, the Mach will be the hot looker this year on the trails. I love the concept of the sled but personally I'd rather have a lighter, more nimble trail sled. I'm sure the brute power of a 1000cc SDI at high rpm will be very impressive. But how will that beast be on bumpy twisty trails? Regardless, I'd give about anything to have 10 minutes on a flat lake with a Mach Z.

The mighty Mach will out accelerate the smaller CC sleds, as long as traction is available.

Even the older Rotax 800 triple Mach Z posted faster 1000' ET's than the F7. Now you take an extra 10-12hp, and reduce weight by about 40lbs or so, and you will have very extreme accelerating machine.

Even the triple's posted faster speeds to 1000' than the same cc twins. But, thats because there ws about 90-100% traction.

FYI, even for you AC guys. The ZRT 800 posted faster ET's than the ZR800. The ZRT 600 posted faster ET's than the ZR 600. Same goes with other brands.

Triples are not only top end monsters, they are designed for blistering acceleration and a good top end. The twins are easier to hook up(lighter), thats what makes people think twins are "faster off the line". Alot of times the twins might get about a 5' lead out of the ice or dirt, but the triples scream by very soon after.

As for the three sleds mentioned. The Mach and Fusion should have no problem waxing the F7, given HP to weight ratio, and amount of traction on the surface.

Just curious, is the F7 faster than the AC 900. :bash:

With equal weight riders, and if both get the same holeshot, then the ZR9 usually gets to the 1000' mark a little quicker, but its close. After about 80mph, the ZR9 starts to shine.

Last year my best speed in 1000' was 102.5 mph and another F7 like mine was pushing 107 mph with mods. Haven't raced a ZR900 yet but i would like to.

Good speed. We had about three F7's running in the 98-103 range at our 1000'. There was also a few stock ZR900's, best speed posted was 104mph for those.

Same day I posted 106mph with my stock Mach Z triple.

How much do you weigh Firecat F7?

Around 230 lbs. Hoping to get some clutching in my sled before the snow comes and hopefully make a little faster.

IMO, the Firecat is one of the nicest looking machines around.

Other than my Mach of course!!! :p

That millennium 'edit' sure does look good

I looked up that decal at Ronnies, seems it's part of the main Mach Z decal, you should try a local sign and graphic shop, I bet they could fix that up for ya...

Can't WAIT until it snows....

Yes, I have raced one from a 25-30mph roll. He kept up with me until about 85mph on the speedo. I was actually starting to get worried.LOL. right after I started worrying, the F7 started to slow in its hard acceleration, and I was still pulling just as hard as I was at 45-50mph. By 110mph, he was about 7-10 lengths behind, and I let off. We had a good chat after, and he offered to switch sleds for a few minutes on the lake, but I turned down his offer, because I was too worried I might "like" it. LOLOL. If I had the chance to own to sleds, the other would be an F7(or ZR900) though.

yeah once you get in the higher speeds the triples really come to life. my friend has an xcr 800 and once he gets in the higher speeds there is no way im gonna catch him.
