I have a friend that needs a piston and jug for his Formula 3-600 that he bought used. He opened it up and found out that the pistons are 20 over bore. He has been to several places to get a new piston and jug for it and they all say sorry we can only get the stock size.

Whats up with that? and do any of you have what he needs?

please email me if so because Im not on here everyday yet.

thanks

Steve

Um, maybe I'm missing something, but if he's going to buy new jugs and pistons for it then why do they still have to be 0.020 over? Even if they cut the heads to match the bore (most places don't, i'm not sure if you would on this motor anyway...), you could still probably go back to stock...

Maybe try calling a cylinder repair shop (like US Chrome (http://www.usnicom.com/) of Wisconsin), if the cylinders aren't that bad they can probably weld on them and then bring them back to 0.020 over again.
At $150 - $200 a hole you might be better off if you could find a used one...

Steve,
I do not think you guys are measuring everything correctly. That is a Nicasil plated engine, and someone would have spent allot of money to open up 3 cylinders to an overbore size, rather than just repair one bad one.

Shoot me an email at 800mxz@snowmobileworld.com

I have a source that can re-plate the cylinder that you allready have to whatever size you want. Also, now that it is apart, I could hook you guys up with a good setup to gain some easy, safe power.
