After finding a mouse nest sucked/wedged into one of my throttle bodys, I will send the sled(98 ZR 600 EFI) to the dealer. My dealer would like to clean the inside of the motor(with 6700 miles on it). NOW HERE IS THE QUESTION: With this kind of mileage will it need a new crank and new pistons/cyl.? Is this the time to have my dealer install the Black Magic 678 stealth kit? Or should I just due a pipe, chip, and clutch combo? If just the combo should I use Black Magic or D+D? Can my engine handle this kind of performance?

I love my sled I can't part with it!
ANY AND ALL INPUT INCLUDING ANY PRICES FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE WOULD BE A GREAT HELP.
Thanks

well w/ 8k on it i'd say it needs a set of pistons for sure. crank bearings when the cases are split they can check them for wear. as for the 680 it's a good small budget big bore, i ran one in my mod for a couple years. i wouldn't waist the money on the B/M kit you can buy the pistons from wiseco and have the jugs punched out and head recut for alot less. d&d or slp twins work pretty good with that bore. if you go that route and spend the money you should have the crank rebuilt just to be safe.
