Paul Yarek was wondering how to liven up the Forums, well this should do it. If you follow the Winston Cup Series, do you have a favourite driver? If this doesn't start something, nothing will http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif

I've been a Terry Labonte fan since the days he drove a Monte Carlo sponsored by Piedmont Airlines. I was disappointed when Junior Johnson went to Fords when Terry was driving for him.

I like the new comers..THey bring a little bit of excitement to the sport...Jr would be my pick for favorite driver but Harvick is a close second.

#2 ,but I do remember the days of kenny schrader running the bullrings in the usac sprints a few years ahead of the kid who drives the 24.if you have not seen dale blaney running a sprint at Eldora you'll never know how good a driver he really is.

JEFF GORDON RULES bur Lil E rocks, Stewart wines(but he's great in a car), New comers bring great racing and PLEASE don't let Dave Marcus on the track. And how can we forget the lovely Shawna Robinson, even if she can't drive that great. Sure bet this will start the fire under a few Arses. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

The Yates boy's-#88 and #28. Sorry to hear Ricky is thinking about retirement. A championship would be a nice way for him to go out. DJ is my favorite though. If Dale won't race the BIG BROWN TRUCK...............I will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

My favourite driver is Sterling Marlin,I have a 1 year old son named Sterling Walter and I've been a Sterling fan since the mid 80's,Remember when he drove a #44 piedmont car too
Had some good years in the #4 car but where he is now is the best he's ever been.

Last night at the end of The Winston, Ryan Newman was lucky that it wasn't Dale Sr. chasing him. Dale would have given him a "little" fender.

Kudos to Elliot Sadler for his helmet toss. Too bad he apologized for it. Cale Yarborough & the Allisons didn't apologize for their scrap at the end of the 79 Daytona 500.

I was at the race in Michigan when Michael Waltrip punched Lake Speed & we missed it http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I don't want to see things get like the WWF (oops sorry WWE) but the drivers are human & do have emotions.

I was the biggest Dale Earnhartd fan but now that he's gone I like Sterling Marlin or Awsome Bill. *Any guy that jumps out of his car mid race to fix a fender is my type of guy. *

I also like Kyle Petty. *I think hes a cool guy but its to bad he just doesnt have what it takes. *

I dont like Michael waltrip. *He is a big whiner. *I lost all respect for Dale junior when he didnt knock that guy out of the way at the winston. *If that was #3 he would have knocked the guy right out of the way. *

Dale Junior is not dale earnhardt to me. *He doest drive like him and he doesnt have the killer instinct.

One of the columnists on NASCAR.com or ThatsRacing.com they figured Jr. was looking down the road, the big picture. Whatever. Maybe the writer figures Newman will remember that another time. We'll see.

When I was living in South Carolina, I sold Haas CNC machines, and they are a major sponsor for Hendrick Motorsports, we gave them 19 CNC machiens to use in their engine shop. In exchange, we as salesmen got to use the facility as a showroom. Gordon fan or not, the place would impress you. A few numbers to make ya think about the money envolved.

Number of Hendrick engines owned: 275 complete

Each engine is re-built 3 times per year

Cost to lease a Hendrick NASCAR package engine: $50,000 per race

Number of parts BOUGHT (everything else made in house) - 3 (block, crank, rods), everything else is made in house. Fuel pumps, water pumps, pistons, etc.,... all made in house and custom to each application.

Still watch once in a while but I've had it about up to here with the 'Nextel Cup Series' and Nascar's attempts to attract a wider audience and commercialize the whole thing to the point where racing is just an afterthought.

No Champagne in Victory Circle???
No covering up those stupid powerade bottles they put on your car?

Nascar is too dumb to realize that the reason they draw more viewers than open-wheeled racing is that open-wheeled racing is for stuck up snobs, while Nascar used to be the common man's racing. This is no longer true. Nascar is doing everything they can to attract their share of stuck up snobs, bean counters, and marketing specialists.

I've been getting more into watching WRC and CORR. Now if we could just get the Nascar Channel, I mean the Speed Channel, to give some airtime to something besides Nascar I'd be all set...

That being said, I like to see Kasey Kahne or Junior up front...

I heard that in 2005 they're going to rename the 'Nascar Busch Series' to be the 'Nascar Tampax Series', in order to try to attract a wider audience and avoid the negative image that they're getting by associating themselves with an alcoholic beverage...
