Does anyone else on here ride dirt bikes in the summer?
Is so, what kind?
Where do you ride?
I'm on an '02 KTM 300 MCX this year. Love riding in the dirt but I still can't wait for it to snow, especially since the KTM is down for service right now...

Mostly motocross tracks.
Got some great tracks around here, Big Air, Red Bud, Log Road, Morelands. There is a new practice track locally - part of Zeeland's indoor track.
Knock on wood, I haven't broken any bones this summer (not true of past summers), I am alot safer on my sled.

got a 97 rm 250, love riding it. the one complaint that i do have about riding in the trails is that the quads are ripping the hell out of them, i piled it up good this weekend thanks to a ripped up corner from a group of quads :cussing: . Riding down tyhe center of the trail is almost impossible on most trails you get really close to trees on either side and dont even think about using the berms once youve picked a rut .

I bought an XR 400 this spring and love it. I don't get to use it that often as free time in the summer is a rare thing for me, but it's still a great way to unwind. I was into quads for a long time, and the bike is a big change that's more fun in alot of ways, and less fun in others.
It's great though. Almost no maintenence needed, burns almost no gas and holds the resale value very well. It's as close as it gets to having fun for free.
