: 2004-2005 Season Chat Timetable
Rocketman 08-28-2004, 11:32 PM For the upcoming season Snowmobileworld.com would like to designate some times for members to meet in the chatroom. This will hopefully get some good discussion going, and the more people, the better. The chatroom software associated with our forums during the winter months has many great features and capabilities; things such as coloured text and the ability to create temporary subrooms to spread out.
The chatroom is an extremely useful tool for problem solving...you never know who will be in there and what they will know..but more often that not, someone will be able to help you with a problem!
Plus, its a great place to just chat with other people that love the same sport as you.
So please vote! This information will be used also in the implementation of a "Chat with the experts" feature that is in the works provided we get enough response.
Thanks -- SW Staff
The Hossman 08-28-2004, 11:42 PM I voted for 10PM... what can I say - I'm a night person.
Ever since I joined SW, I've always been tempted to click on that Chat Room icon, but never have for fear of being ostracized and ultimate rejection... it's like Grade 9 all over again.
Heck, it took about a year of reading these posts as a guest before I decided to join!!
This year I make a solemn vow to give the chat room a try.
revrnd 08-28-2004, 11:49 PM Like I said in our MSN conversation, I'll chat mostly on Monday nights or Saturday night during HNIC.
Psxbs 08-29-2004, 01:50 AM I think a later time in th evening would work out better.
Droptop 08-29-2004, 10:32 AM I would say between 8-9 PM. Maybe i'm the only one that has to get up 6 AM for school :D
Russ Wheeler 08-29-2004, 10:34 AM Hossman, you crack me up...have no fear, the chat room is a friendly place, and just about anyone is welcome...
I voted for 9 pm, as that's when I usually get to sit down here at night. Sunday or Monday nights would be ideal as well..
Formulaman 08-29-2004, 11:24 AM I will not vote because I don't like the communist ideas of, when and where, do this and that :D
Just kidding Oly I'll come in any time it don't matter to me, when ever I have free time.
Hossman don't be shy man we have lots of fun in there and there is allways someone there to help if ya have questions. Dont worry man it's all good :undercover:
RacerX408 08-29-2004, 03:48 PM anytime after 9 or 10 is good for me.
kennypope 08-30-2004, 06:55 PM anytime i'm night shift! as i still don't have a puter at home........the "X" got it! :bash:
SHAMARKEN 08-30-2004, 09:05 PM anytime after 9pm unless there's a major snow out there..........
i voted for after 10 est, i am just never know what i am doing in the early evening.
The Hossman 09-02-2004, 12:44 AM Well, looks like I'll be chatting with all you night owls.... Heck, it's 1AM now, and The Hossman's gotta be up in 5 hours... I truly am my own worst enemy.
The Hossman 09-08-2004, 10:53 PM Well, I survived my first visit to the chat room last night. Thanks guys for your hospitality.
Unfortunately, my mind would recite witty comments much more quickly than my fingers could type them, so by the time I got a complete sentence typed out, the topic had passed. So, most of the conversations I was having were primarily with myself.... :p
It's time to brush up on my speed typing, and figure out how to make all those funny face icons come up by using only the keyboard..... :dazed: before my next visit. I also need to learn to follow more than one conversation at once. My girlfriend says I have trouble following one, let alone several. :whatever:
Anyways, hope to see all of you in the chat room real soon!! Come on in, it's another good reason why SW is the best place on the net!! SWRules
northpo 09-09-2004, 07:28 PM I opted for 10ET. Too many other things going on before that.
WoodyCam 09-17-2004, 09:25 AM I didn't vote, as I really don't get too excited about chat rooms. If people have questions and answers to share about snowmobiling, I feel its best for the forum, to have the Q&A's posted in the forum. This way, anyone can take advantage of the knowlege of others. by posting the Q&A's on the forum, it's a permanent record for all to see and comment on, especially if they can't make it to a specified chat time.
Just my $0.02 I run a forum as well, and the members voted against a chat room setting. We all use YIM if we want to contact each other for chat.
Cheers,
Joel
rookie 09-17-2004, 11:58 PM Late evening is cool. I won't ride at night, bad experience in the past.
vapourtrail 09-28-2004, 12:42 PM anytime between 7pm and 10pm saturday nights is good since i won't be watching hockey now..................... :cussing:
Formulaman 10-01-2004, 06:13 PM :D isn't that the truth powder
Don't worry hossman some people's puters are on steriods you'll get the hang of it
So what did we come up with Rman anything yet
Rocketman 10-01-2004, 09:48 PM Well it looks to me like you can expect the most people in the chat after 9pm EST. So check at that time, sometimes you might have to wait a while for someone to join you, but once you do, and start a conversation, others will follow. Enjoy the chatroom sledders!

vapourtrail 10-27-2004, 01:19 AM i know it's probably just me but everytime i check the chat room i don't see anyone in there.
Rocketman 10-27-2004, 02:18 PM well, next time just wait a few minutes. Don't just enter then leave. How do you know someone doesn't do the same thing 2 sec after you log out? Give it a chance.
