Dad has an 89 safari for the grand kids to start out on. The hood is cracked around were it attaches to the hinges on both sides. I will be reinforcing this but need to know if the hinges go on the motor side or the nose side of the hood. This is a leaf sprung, headlight pop up sled. thanks

been awhile since i had my old 85' safari, but i do belive that the hinges were on the motor side of the hood. nose cone has to come off first too.

motor side. go to www.ronnies.com. look at oem parts category for skidoo. you can view the sled microfiche and still get parts for that sled. ronnies is quick and reliable. i had a 87 stratos that was similar to your model. had to knock one hinge back into allignment with a hammer... after a sapling jumped out in front me.
