i sank my sled in the lake last year and just finishing rebuilding it. Having a few issues if one of you can help. i has electric start and when it was under water it seized so i decided to go with out . Question i have these wires that are not connected to anything now from where the battery was since i no longer need that and where the starter was hooked up. i just got it running and seen a arc of electicity coming from my exhuast arcing to the gearbox the just barely touch where the sliencer is and seen little sparks arcing across between the 2. My PTO side cylinder doent seem to be firing there seems to be spark but after running for a few minutes the exhaust on that cylinder is not very hot like the other 2. When i connected the three coils back to the leads from the CDI i noticed ther is no numbers so which lead goes to which COIL how does the CDI know the firing order i read the shop manual and it doesnt say anything on that matter.
Any help would be great !!

doesnt matter which wire is hooked to which coil as they all fire at the same time. it sounds like youve got a wire from the elec start that didnt get dissconnected and is feeding back through grounding out the ignition.

go back through your wires and make sure that the positives from the electric start arent grounding out, tape them up and just make sure evrything is connected properly, and be careful it doesnt start a fire if there is sparks flying, ive seen that happen before!

That doesnt make sense that they will fire all at the same time ?

most 2 stroke motors fire twice per revolution and all at the same time, there are a few polaris that fire each cyl individually but you have a machz780 just like me and they do fire at the same time. to prove this you can put any plug wire from any cyl on another cyl and your engine will still run the same, no problems! if you dont believe me call your dealer, another bit of proof is the fact that all the coil wires from the cdi box to the coils are the same color because it simply doesnt matter which one goes where due to the fact they all fire at once!

Machz1 is right, you can mix the wires and the engine will still run o.k.
If you removed your starter and your batterie, you WILL have to change your voltage regulator. It is different on a non-batterie sled. With yours, you have some charging voltage on your red batterie wire !!!
Hope this help,
