Why? xsivhp 09-21-2004, 02:18 PM I was thinking my dad's xtc could use a bit more zip off the bottom and thru the mid range. Is yours stock? Shane 09-22-2004, 06:26 AM What used to be my sled, now my wife's as she only rides once or twice per year, has a Maxximum Perfromance Clutch Kit (trail version). I have used there kits on all of my sleds since 1997 and they are FANTASTIC! FuzzButt 09-22-2004, 08:21 PM Now that I know a bit more about your situation I would have to agree with Shane. Get the Maxx Perf Trail kit for the 600 twin. The clutch kit includes an imporved head gasket that will really wake the motor up. I have the thinner gasket but not the 91 octane version in mine and it was like night and day. Im'm over 60 before I can exhale and it pulls strong through 80 then starts to level off a bit thru 90. This is with the stock gearing and un touched clutches with a new belt. This kit is the best $225 you can spend on the get up and go factor. THe gasket swap can be done in a few hours with the right tools. Just remember to torque the head bolts correctly and to the right number in steps. Easily 10 horse power down low where you need it. If I can get mine to rev down a bit I would be even faster. Right now she spins 8300 WFO at 90+ with traction issues. FuzzButt | |
