I just bought a 1996 Formula z 586 and i'm wonder ing if the clutching/gears are stock. My books stop at 1995 and pick up at 1997. Whats the clutch calibrations (ramps, primarysecondary springs, helix)?Whats the stock gears and belt? Has anyone ever changed the rotor with good results for trail use?

97 mach1, thats exactly what i wanted. Has anyone ever changed the rotor on these sleds?
What do you mean by change the rotor (rotary valve) ? as in replace it with stock? or get one with a diffrent (bigger /smaller) duration opening?
Or change the break rotor?

If you are refering to rotary valves, I tried swapping the to the type "501" valve, in my old '93 Mach 1 670, and did not notice much difference. I am told that 501 rotary valve needs twin pipes, and a clutch kit to really work well. Swapping rotary valves is a big job. You will need a factory service manual, a 360 degree protractor, and a lot of patients to do it.

Yes i was talking about the rotory valve. I have the engine tore down now so it wouldn't be a big deal. Where can i get different rotory valves? Carbon techs web site is down.
