Does anyone know if an engine out of a 96 600 XCR is a direct bolt-in replacement in a 95 XCR 600 sled? I'm pretty sure the engine will fit but how much additional screwing around will it take to make all the electrics, cooling, carburation, miscellaneous connections and alignments work? Thanks for your help.

I'm not an expert on the subject but it should be as close to a direct bolt-in as is possible. I think they added a couple holes for crank lubrication, changed the color of the head cover, and maybe something else you can't see but basically it should drop right in with no changes.

This assumes that you're talking about the regular '96 XCR 600. The '96 XCR 600 SP is an entirely different sled and engine. Definitely not a drop in.
