i have been looking for a driveshaft for my phazer (1990) and i was wondering if anybody on here had one. the driveshaft is fine....except the speedo cable is broken off inside of it, not allowing me to use the speedometer. Id like to pick up one for fairly cheap...is anybody selling one or know where i can get one? Thanks..

That happened to me twice. both times I was able to grab a bit of the little broken piece with a needle nose pliers and yank it out.
Hey, I've got another brand new spare of the little piece that broke. YOu can have it for $3.

Wait, nevermind. I'll just throw it in with the engine shroud. Otherwise I'll never get rid of it.

Well there is actually a story behind it....
I was working on my sled and disconnected all of the wires and cables, and then when reconnecting them I didnt pay attention and crossed the cables, speedo to the tach gauge, and tach to speedo gauge...the result, both cables twisted in half and the little sheer pin sheered off inside the shaft...
Soooo....i couldnt get ahold of the pin, so i decided to try and loosen it up by drilling it out...not a good idea in retrospect...the drill broke off inside the shaft...darn it...and its in there good...
So thats the story of the driveshaft and why i need a new one...

I knew that there was more to that story than you were letting on. I have many a 'repair' go bad myself.... costs more in the end, but at least you learn what NEVER to do again. :D
