i am looking to get a 2002 srx and i was just at the Lindsay and i was loooking at the F7 and i was talkiing to soem of the guys and they were saying that the f7 takes it by 3 miles per hour and it smokes the SRX in the 1/4 mile all day and they are getting 130 miles to a tank. well i find that hard to believe. im not to fond if the build quality but i was just wondering if this is true. so for those who own a srx and have raced a f7 let me know. i know the f7 is efi too and has 13.5" of travel but you cant beat the srx for reliability. anyways back to the question which will win??? i was also told the ZR900 has 170 hp and will do 120mph all day long??

Don't know much on the F7 vs. SRX, but I CAN tell you that the ZR900 does not have anywhere near 170hp in stock form. Stock hp is claimed to be 150hp.
The main thing that will help make your decision between the F7 and SRX is what type of riding you do. If it's all open lake and rail beds, take your pick. If you get into the rough and ditch bangin, I think you'd be happier with the newer suspension and light handling of the F7. Both are great sleds though and the yammi definitely has it beat in over all "quality". Got a coin?lol

:withstupid: I don't know about racing-lots of FAST SXRs out there and F7 drivers will claim that their sled will beat your SXR without even the engine running, but if you're ditch-bangin' I'd go with the F7 unless you don't mind doing the mods. The SXRs seem to be bulletproof in the mechanics area........

Sounds like some unrealistic Cat fans you got there. Any time these two rac i see the SRX win by a sled or 2. The zr9 is nowhere near that hp lol. I would prolly have to say the f7 is the better sled as far as overall ride, the thin tunnel makes it really comfortable, and it is no slouch on the speed department, but the SRX is the faster of the two.

I have made this argument many times before...its all about set up. For some reason there seems to be a lot of people out there on poorly set up SRX's. Put a clutch kit in, and get the suspension adjusted right and the SRX is a fast machine. The F7's are fast also...I think it all boils down to who is dialed in better. I have beat many F7s on my 99. They get me out of the whole...and at about 40 or 50 MPH I pass them and then continue to crawl away on the top end. Its still pretty close but I do pull away. The tip with the SRX is to loosen the track (assuming you have everything else right). My cousin has the same sled as me...we dialed it in to be the same as mine but it was seriously lacking in mid range and top end. Then we realized that the only difference between the two machines was that I had loosened my track as much as possible without it ratcheting or ballooning into the heat exchangers, and he had his at factory specs (which is way too tight)...so he set his to be like mine and bingo...the lack of mid range and top end was gone, and he was winning races again.

Agreed................most SRX's could be faster with tuning.

As has been said but bears repeating...a properly set up SRX will run neck and neck if not beat an F7. Clutching, weight transfer, and track tension are the three biggest factors in obtaining maximum performance.

More times than not, pipes do nothing more than add noise. In fact, often, they make the sled go slower, just sounds faster. There are certain pipes when coupled with the prpoer carburation and clutching that can make an SRX a REAL lake racer. But for overall usage, clutch it, set teh weight transfer and track tension correctly and youhave one bad ### TURN KEY machine!

Yeah but if you remember he sold it to pay for half of his warrior which is the fastest machine on planet earth, gf's picture and all. I have been watching E-Bay closely for the enticer to show up though. I got $7000 just waiting for the monster 340 to be mine. Seriously though, I have yet to see an F7 outrun a SRX700. I am sure it happens but I have yet to witness it. None the less I give full respect to the F7 as it is an unbeleivably comfy and snap neck ride. Throttle response is nasty on it. There is a post about a 440 mxzx vs. f7 somewhere in this site. I have never ridden the 440 so i didn't comment but I thought it was a joke at first. The F7 has the best throttle response I have ever seen. I am still hopin for the Fusion to be all it claims. I, for some reason, still beleive in Polaris. Either way, lets hit the snow hard and fast this winter.

Hey-I remember him, but I just picked up a 97 Puma 340 for my daughter-and it'll smoke his 340, all the way past 140 mph! Don't need no SRX, F7, Rev ( :lmao: ) with this sled.........

I am polaris hunting right now, lookin for a vintage one. I hear their old 340's were capable of 220hp with a simple carb swap. That should put me into the 150-160mph range.

After reading this, I'm wondering why I ever switched from my 80 Enticer 340 to my Polaris 800. Sounds like I could've beaten all you guys with the old sled. lol Instead of dishing out $$$ for the Polaris, I could have just invested in some mods for the Enticer.

Yer mistake JT. That enticer could have broke records if you knew what you were doing, and you had $10,000 from yer dads child support, to spend on mods...

I do agree with you though about fast machines,,,, it was drug out of the garage backwards with no rear suspension on it,,,,, and it was FAST!!!
