I have been looking to get a "crotch rocket" and really like the Aprilia Mille R model. *This is an Italian made bike with a mighty rotax engine. *V-twin, 997cc, 4-stroke, 130hp with a top speed of 170mph (exactly what I need). *Just wondering by chance if anybody owns one? It is a nice bike but if you want low maintenance go with a Honda or Yamaha neither can be beat.

That sounds like the same engine they are going to use in the sled, I wonder why it's not going to be 130 hp ?

although I do agree that the Aprilias are beautiful bikes, I beleive that the Honda RC51 is supposed to be faster and better handling, not to mention coming with Honda reliability. *check out the latest Cycle World, they do a comparo between the Honda, Ducati 998 and the RC51. *The Honda wins the performance war and is a LOT cheaper than the others. *If you want exclusivity and money is no object then the Aprilia certainly sounds interesting. *Best of luck.
