I have a 2001 MXZ 800. Motor stock except VFIII reeds. Recently had EPI clutch kit installed. I have run the Doo 127 belt before clutch kit without any problems.
Just wanted to see everyones opinion about continuing with the Doo 127, going to a 067 or trying an aftrermarket belt.
Thanks.

I've always had great luck with the doo belts. The only other one I really tried was Dayco HPX. Can you say gone in 60 seconds. No not really more like 160 miles and she melted down. However It did have a warranty on it and they sent me a brand new one.

I would stay stick with the 127. They hold up well for me even with the paddle and powder abuse. I have tried two kinds of aftermarket belts, both times the results were horrible.

Paul, the thing that sucks is the belt blew in Feb. by the time I got it back it was May. So she's still brand new in the package.

I have also had much better luck with the 127 belt on my 1997 Mach 1. I have tried the 067, Ultimax III, and Gates Xtreme. The 127 belt is a bunch more "grippier", slips less, and seems to last longer than any of the other belts. I seem to notice better acceleration and top speed with the 127 vs. all the others that I have tried.
Best thing is just to keep your clutches in adjustment and alignment. Always check belt tension and deflection. Doo that, and your belts should last a long time.

I have 2.5 years and about 3000 miles on a Bombardier 'gold' belt, and my clutches are modified. It's finally starting to get skinny, but none of the cords have ever come lose.
The only aftermarket belt I've ever heard will stand up to major abuse is the Gates Extreme...

I have the reg doo belt on my 800 with 1000 miles on it and it shows very little wear, I can't tell just by looking. I am going to leave it on for this year I think, should get another 1000 miles out of it I think.

rampage that gold belt will rob about 5mph top end. Try a 127 you will see a difference and they are cheaper:)

Hmm, never heard that, but it makes sense, they are a lot stiffer so I guess maybe it's keeping me from shifting out all the way...
Since you ride a Ski-Doo and drive a Dodge you must know what you're talking about :)
I have an '04 2500 HO Cummins 4 door, short box, 4x4, automatic, off road package... pulls powerstrokes and dusts duramaxes.
Just ordered my '05 with the C600 and everything else the same...
