I use Amsoil Intercepter syn. in my sled and in my wifes the hp synthetic and it performs great. I've never had a problem (knock on wood).

I switched to AMS from Polaris blue 2 years ago and to date it has been great.

I switched based on the droves of others swearing by it and I wanted to make my triple powered sled as reliable as possible while minimizing wear.

It doesn't smell to bad and barely smokes. Plugs last the whole season (I change them once a year and use the old as spares, not bad just part of routine maintenance) and the compression hasn't changed in 2500 miles.

What more can I ask for.

So for me regular AMS is the way to go provided your not running power valves.

I use their chaincase oil and just switched to their grease. I had a bearing go on the drive shaft on my doo - 2 years old and greased every ride. Dealer said what grease, I said conventioanl and they said it does a poor job of displacing water hence the seized bearing. The grease was water soaked and milk chocolate brown. They said synthetic all the way and the bearings will last thousands of miles and many seasons. So I'm changing both sleds drive bearings and switching to AMS grease. I'm also cleaning the skids / IFS and changing them over also.

A friend owns a shop and he said that AMSOIL will cost approx. $4 less per gallon minimum than the big 4 prices (he's going to start carrying it this year). Guess I'll be running some this year in my 2 strokes.

Friends and I have been running regular Amsoil since it came out for sleds back in the seventies. Have never had an oil related failure yet. I hate to think of the number of miles, sleds, and racing that would cover. And it's not all that bad on the VES valves either..... though I'm sure there is better at a much higher price. Not worth it in my book.

I'm not endorsing this, but am running an XCR 800 at about 70:1, and have been since new. No signs of unusual wear, no special attention 5000 miles.

When Amsoil first came out, it was advertised as a 100:1 oil. We actually ran that ratio in sprint racing ovals with the old SD twin trackers.... Less oil = more fuel in combustion chamber.... several seasons, and never had an oil related failure.

There are other good oils out there I'm sure, but I need a reason to change at this point.

I've been running it for 5500 miles now in my sled, actually I run it in my snowblower, chainsaw, weedwhip etc. Anything 2stroke gets it.
It's all a 50:1 mix Works great. Valves are usually pretty clean too.
I used to run it in my jetski too when I had one. Best part is its cheap.

I've been running regular Amsoil in all my two strokes for years now including both sleds and outboards. No problems. I have no plans to switch.

HI everyone. I strongly reccommend the INTERCEPTOR OIL for those running two strokes with power valves. If you do NOT have power valves then spending the extra $$$ is wasted. The conventional 2 CYLE SYNTHETIC INJECTOR OIL is just what you need. For REALLY HIGH COMPRESSION and racing applications where there is excessive heat, RPM, and abuse, I recommend what used to be called SERIES 2000 RACING OIL that is now called DOMINATOR. It is specifically designed to meet the extremes of these situations. I run it in my offshore race boat and it is fantastic. 4 seasons of running and no drop in compression at all! When I was driving the PENNZOIL OFFSHORE RACE BOAT we ran...you guessed it AMSOIL! PENNZOIL just did not have the anti wear characteristics, exceptional cooling capacity and clean burning attributes that AMSOIL does. Also, in a snowmobile you do not have to worry about low temperature pour points. If you don't believe me, try a comparison test this winter. Also, I strongly recommend the SERIES 200 RACING SYNTHETIC GREASE for ALL of your snowmobile and trailer needs. Of course your truck would happy to have it as well. The moisture displacement capability of this grease is exceptional, and its rust inhibiting nature is second to none. Keep in mind that if you have been running conventional grease and switch to AMSOIL it will NOT reverse the damage that may already be done, but it will certainly help against future wear. If you are riding a new sled...go AMSOIL from day one!

I used the reg. stuff last winter, no problems, no visible smoke, valves were free moving (haven't cleaned them yet) overall very good oil.

This year I am going to use Interceptor, just because I want the best for my sled.
