I have a 1999 Zr 700 that needs a track. First year ridding and don't know what to get. I live in western ny and don't now if it is mostly trails or fresh powder that needs to be packed. I was looking to get a 1" track but don't know. Thanks for the help.

Camoplast makes a new track called the ICE CLAW.
It comes with 144 studs built right into the lugs which is much stronger than conventional studding, weighs no more than any other track and will last way longer than a traditionally studded track. I think it prices out at around $598CDN, but think about it - if you bought a new track ($350-$500) and add 144 carbide-tip studs, washers and locknuts ($350-$400), you're well over that.
If I hadn't bought a new track last year, I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat. I don't know why any other manufacturers didn't think of this idea before, because it's brilliant.

Check it out!

I would look into the rip-saw. I think the Ice Claw is cool but I have 1000 miles on my woody's carbide studs and I will have to replace them by the end of this upcoming season. With the Ice Claw....when they are wore out your screwed.
