I have a 2001 Ski- Doo MXZ 700.
Will a gas cap from a 1997 Formula III fit on it?

according to the microfiche, the formula III as just a cap, and the MXZ has the cap with the gauge built in.

I bet the caps are the same thread, and will fit the tank, but you may loose or gain the gauge.

they should be universal as far as the cap goes, it just the difference on the fuel gauge option.

If I remember right a 1990 safari cap would [/B]not[B] fit on my 97 mxz. My 670 was leaking around the clear lens for the gauge when near full. I went to put the safari cap on for trailering and the threads were different or to deep but it leaked more than with the leaking original.

Also on a 02 legend, the dip stick or cork and rod assembly is longer than the 97, It would hit the botttom of the tank before the threads would reach. Just my experiences.
