Hey guys, I'm new here but not to snowmobiling. was wondreing if anyone has the piston and cylinder specs for a 1996 900 Thundercat. I'm going to rebuild it for a friend. He has a bad cylinder (piece missing) in piston. I would like to measure the other cylinders and see if they are within tolerance. (nice if I had them) I can get a used jug for $250. Then put new pistons and rings in. Also does anyone know the limits for the crank end rod bearings? There is some play at a quick feel.I havent really got into it yet. Great forum here and good info.

Not sure about the bore tolerances, but there should be very little up and down play in the conn rod bearings. In almost every motor you'll feel some side to side play, but if you can 'feel' any play up and down it's probably trouble... You have to hold the crank still and make sure you're only moving it up and down, not side to side...
