I just picked up a 2004 pro x 800 with the team secondary and the PERC. never ridden yet. i hear the sled does not fully shift out from other owners. what is stock gearing? i do not want to clutch it yet because i don't have the money for it just yet because i want to spend some money on cosmetics. what is a good gearing change so i can accelerate like a rocket ship and shift out much further? i WILL NOT change the chain because i dont want to gear that low. but whatever gearing i go with i must be able to tighten the chain to within spec. now what size sprockets and what kind of sprockets should i get? like they make 3/4 sprockets this and that s*it what is the exact name size and spec of the sprocket i should be getting?
thanks

Not sure what your stock gears are. I do know 25/40 is stock on the XC8s and 24/41 works pretty good for a lot of the guys running those.

Hesitate to suggest springs/helix on the Team. Lots of controversy with it. I think a lot of it is undeserved, but mine is used mostly for trails and ditches. Make sure you have one of the newer reverse wound springs in it. That's supposed to end some binding issues (maybe the top end problem you heard about) on the Team used with the Perc system.
