Has anyone got a manual for a '99 ZR 700 laying around that they would be willing to part with? If not, can anyone tell me where I can get one, or if just going to the dealer and asking them would be cheapest?

Secondly, what is the proper way to prime my oil pump. I pulled the engine from my sled to do some much needed cleaning and repairs so my lines have drained. I also need to know if the same technique applies for a '98 Polaris XCR 700 (my cousins sled who did the same work this summer as I did.) ?

Thanks for your time in advance.

P.S. I was able to find anything with the search so please don't tell me to try that when I have on 3 separate occasions tried to do so. :)

Going to a dealer may be more for a maunal. I would check Dennis Kirk or other aftermarket parts stores to see if they have one first.

As far as the oil pump goes, here's what they do in the shop.

Fill up your tank when you have your engine installed. Let some oil come out of the hose and then simply put it on your pump.

What I would do is drain your gas tank, and then put about 2-3 gallons of mixed gas in it. This will ensure that you will have no problems if there is a bubble in the line. Worst case scenario is that you may foul a plug. No big woop!
Good Luck- Should be easy.

thanks, sounds like it shouldn't be a problem.

with any luck I will have the motor back in today and I can start working on some of the other things that need to be done.

There is also a screw on the oil pump to bleed the air, you can loosen that screw until oil flows, that way you make sure you don't have air in the pump. Polaris has that as well. Also, it's a good idea to hold the oil pump lever all the way open for the first bit of running, that way you ensure a LOT of oil is flowing. That' s LOTS easier on the Polaris, but you can do it with a coat hanger on the A/C as well. The oil in the gas idea that Brother D gave you is also a good idea, oil is cheaper than parts are. ;)
