I'd like some feed back from guys who have high miles on 2000 srx's. There is one for sale near me with 8500 miles and is stock and never rebuilt that a friend is looking at. Does anybody have one with more miles that has or has not had any major issues. I have never had a engine in any of my sleds hold together that long. I know it depends on how it was maintained but it still sounds like a time bomb to me. I was just hoping to hear what other srx owners had to say.

I personally don't own one but ive heard those 700Triples are down right bullet proof.

9000kms and counting here... I know that's only about 2/3 of 8500 miles, but I've had no problems. The compression is still real good. Everything on this machine seems to be holding together a lot better than any other machine I've owned over the years.... Anybody else?

9800kms here on 99 srx 700 and still runs liek it was new!

awesome motor as long it's stock.......I know from experienced I'm on my 3rd motor just can't learn......But for stock they can go for for a good while if he does buy opened it up & look at the piston skirt & check fro cracking thats when thy blow up.....cheaper to change piston & rings than rebuilding a whole top end............

As long as the rest of the sled has been kept up with, i wouldn't worry about the motor. It is all the bearing and bushings. I had an XCR440SP with 8500miles and ran like a champ. I looked at a 700SRX the other day with 11500 miles. 2 strokes motors last, in my opinion.

There is a lady around here who has a 700XT with 42000 km(approx 26000 miles). The motors are a little different but it is a yamaha triple. I've got about 13000 km on my 700SX, with no problems ever. I just sold it to a buddy who was glad to have it.
