I'm thinking about adding a third narrow stall to my two car garage for the sleds. *If I do I'm thinking about putting a roll up door on the back side so I can just drive the sleds through(Goodbye sled dollies). *If the wife doesn't like the sound of that wad of cash being dropped I'm going to propose a shed with two doors.

Any input or ideas? *Anyone else done this? What about the floor surface? *Ya know, carbides and picks and concrete don't like each other.

I have 10 acres in Upper Lower Michigan where I have built my cabin and 20x30 shed/garage. *The shed has one door in the front to drive in and one in the back to drive out. *It is the cats a$#. *I didn't put any garage doors, (too many breakins with regular garage doors), but took 3 solid oak blank doors, buzzed one in half and fastened the halves to the other 2 blanks with a Z pattern to make a 54 inch door. *This works great, even for the garden tractor. *If I can find a pic I will post it.

If you don't have dollies for rolling the sled around, put the second door in. If you have dollies I would bother with the expense of a second door (more $$$ for the sled).

When my father built our snowmobile shed he did the 2 door deal. If the shed was a bit bigger (not sure of exact size), 1 door would have been OK.

I have a drive thru on the side of my garage for the sleds. *Its great. *

I vote for drive thru.

My dad's shed is a drive-thru, fits four sleds with room to walk around them all. *The floor is wood, so no stud damage. *He recently tacked down 1 x 1/4 wood strips on the floor to serve as ski guides (I'm not sure why, since you can steer carbide on wood anyway). *Anyhow, drive-thru is the way to go. *I'll eventually put a second door on my shed for sure.

Thanks Arcticzrt, I ride up there all the time. *I'm originally from Gaylord and my sister still lives in Vanderbilt. *It's funny how every time I went up last winter you couldn't ride from snow bank to snow bank in Gaylord, yet over by Thumblake they still had an 8" base! *Must be all the tree cover back in the swampy state land.

My vote is for the garage, but I'll have to wait until next summer. *Until then the lumber is gonna start piling up in the back yard!

Thanks for the input. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
