I can get a '94 Mach 1 670 for around $1500. I dont know the shape or how many k's are on it but i was wondering how are these sleds? Fast? Reliable? gas mileage? How much would insurance be for just liability? Thanks!

As for the rotax 670 it is a great bulletproof engine. I am not too sure on the chassis and suspension itself though. the 670 has great power and good bottem end torque. is that 1500 CAN. or US?

I believe that's the PRS chassis which rides crappy and is heavy, but at least it's solid. You can easily upgrade the rear to an M-10 or at the very least an SC-10II. And get an MBRP widening kit for the front end. And if it doesn't already have them, put on plastic skis. Steel skis on that pig make it useless off trail.
My brother has over 10,000 miles on his 670 engine. Pretty damn bullet proof. With it's age (and hp-sapping mechanical reverse and M-10) it still tops out at 86mph.

a 670 topping out at 86 mp/h wow thats pretty slow for that motor is it not

It's big heavy sled, pretty much useless off trail...on nice flat trails though, the thing corners like it's on rails. New shocks will do wonders, as the fronts arn't particularly durable, and the rears are probably just worn out. Check the little boots going into the belly pan, they'll probably have to be replaced too. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to insure it, give TD a call, they seem to be the company to beat this year. My 97 800 triple was only 86 bucks this year.

It may be a little heavy by todays standards but it's a tough sled, I have close to 10000 miles on my 93 and its still going strong. Tops out at over 100mph, and is one of the best handling "trail Sleds out there". As in groomed trails. I haven't seen a sled that can hold a corner at speed like this one
Best most I did were, F8 front suspension from Fast, Fox shocs for the rear and went up to a 150 lbs per inch spring in the rear instead of the stock 135's. I'm a big guy and I ride fast. lol

My brother had a 94 mach 1. The motor is bulletproof, and it is great on groomed trails. I have a bunch of parts for a 94 as my Bro's was destoryed when he lost it while trailering. The tunnel got smoked. The only problem he had was a broken engine mount.

My 92 is a very rare X version, It has a light weight chassis. The hood is the same as all 92 other than a X after the 1

Probably one of the sharpest cornering sleds you will ever ride. Low CG, extremly rigid chassis, and a lot of weight right over the skis. (I had a '93). The RV 670, will run forever. C7 rear suspension (7" of travel) was horrible, shocks would fade after 50 mi., then at that point you would have a "C4" (4" of travel). Many C7 components fail due to stress, as there are a million cross shafts on a C7, that can sieze. The suspension arms are prone to cracking, so keep that in mind. Sled will pull about 105-110 in clean tune. An awesome sled, until you hit some bumps.

Oh yea, almost forgot one other important comment: The factory low (and I mean LOW) black windshield is absolutely useless!! You will have hypothermia after about 3 mi of riding if it's below 15F.

Ya but it looks really cool!!

That's another thing about that older C-7, don't just grease it, complelelty dissassemble the entire skid and clean all the corrosion and crap off all the (many) cross members and pivot points. When I got mine, the entire rear skid was frozen solid, couple nights of tearing it apart and figuring out what goes where and it works good as new..

I owned a 93 Mach 1 and it was so much fun to ride in groomed trails. It was blistering fast out of the hole an mid range was huge. It hooked up like no other sled I've owned. Sadly, it was a dog in the chop. It kicked the crap out of me. My buddy sold it to me and bought a 95 with factory twin pipes. The 93 signle pipe out ran it.

Like someone said, get the F8 kit for it. When I had a PRS mach 1 I was not at all happy with the front suspension or rear for that matter. The dealers I go to recommended the Fast F8 kit. I sold it before I did. Their was/is a wide front end kit not from MBRP but from another company. I also believe these were for the 89/90 mach 1 when they had a 36" stance. The F8 kit if I remember adds travel and better shocks. For all that is spent, is it worth getting an s-chassis for $500 more?

95 was the fast one. She had the twin pipes and huge 44mm mikuni's. The only problem was you needed to gut the airbox and rejet to let it breath. It couldn't get enough air in certain situations and was a dog and yes a 93 could beat it. With the airbox modded and rejetted that sled rocked. Rode like a tank in the rough stuff and flew on the smooth winding trails. Put many miles on one and pissed off many larger displacement sleds that swore I actually had a machZ with mach 1 decals. I lifted the hood for more than 1 sore looser.

Machster670,
I have a '91 Mach1 - 617 (belongs to Casey - my daughter)
and a '93 Mach1 - 670 (mine)

Could you please tell me if your '92 Mach1 still has the original decals on it?
My husband had a '92 Mach1 years ago and from his pics the decals are the same.
If you do I would love to see your pics as Casey's sled is cherry but the decals are missing.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.
Thanks

If you are looking for a decal kit for that sled go to skidoodecals.com they will have the entire kit for you including the warning decals if you may need them.

I have an 89 mach 1 with origanal stickers if you still need some pics, also wondering where I can get the ski spreaders, I am finally putting mine back on the trail after a engine swap.
