Haven't even seen 'em, but my father-in-law is a mechanic and used to be a Snap-On rep, so his garage only has Snap-On stuff. *Seems like great tools and boxes. *Just as good as Craftsman.

Snap on stuff is outragously priced. *Craftsman is the best. *

They both offer lifetime warrenty the only thing is snapon weighs about 1 Mg less so for that im going to have to spend $80 a wrench. *

Listen to bob villa and AJ Foit. *Craftsman is the way to go.

revrnd,
*i've seen the sled themed Snap-On boxes and they look great. i have two toolboxes one is a craftsman and the other is a mac but they don't hold a candle to the bearing drawer Snap-On boxes like some of the technicians have at our shop.

*My tools are mainly craftsman and i cannot complain. the Snap-On dealer in my area is a great friend of mine and some of the tools i have are Snap-On which i can see are a little bit better than craftsman.

*Just something i have noticed is the canadian tire professional series wrenches are getting a great name especially when on sale. some of the technicians in the shop like them alot but i have only had luck with canadian tire washer fluid and ice scrapers. i guess i have just not had great luck at canadian tire.

Why do you think they call it Crappy Tire? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

When I was replacing my tools I went with the Canadian Tire stuff. A lot better than it used to be. Besides what I had before the break in was a real mixed collection.

Since I am a mech I have a snap on box full of snap on tools Chicago pneumatic air tools and a few odds and ends from the local parts store for making custom stuff. The box is 50 inches long by 22 inches deep and 44 inches high with full bearings. The box is flat on the top with a rubber mat and it acts as another bench in the shop. The main reason why I went snapon is because the dealer comes to my door every week to see if I need anything warrentied or want to buy something new and this guy is good because he always comes on payday. I had the craftsman stuff and they were fine untill I broke something then I would have to drive 80 + mile round trip to get it replaced, and that sucked.
This is my second snapon box and I got it to replace the smaller snapon box I had before because I was running out of room. *Also I noticed there is a lottless flex in snapon wrenches when I have compared then to others.

The themed box is very cool.Too bad I dont like Snap on boxes though.I've own 3 Snap on boxes and switched to Mac.I have the Macsimizer box,its 5 feet long.Craftsman tools are fine for home jobs, but at the shop I use real tools,Mac,Snap on,Matco. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I will go with mxz7 on the tools part. I am a mechanic and when I use a craftsman wrench it actually hurts! I have Craftsman boxes at home, and also at the cabin. I have a couple snap on boxes at home also but they are older and do not have the good ball bearing drawers. At work I have a snap on side box, a mac (macsimizer)(sp) bottom and a snap on top box. The snap on which is a arctic logo box, is the best. The mac bottom box, the drawers are all bent and two of them do not lock anymore, is junk I would say, it is about 11 years old. Kevin

What I like about Mac, Snap-on, and Matco tools is they sell the odd tool I really need that I cannot get from Craftsman. I have a few Snap-on, Matco, but mostly Craftsman tools. Sears is 15 min from my house, and Matco I see once a week. I save 50% with sears tools over Matco prices. If the tools works, who cares about the brand? Boxes for me are just to hold my tools. I sink the money saved into the toys instead, not a tool box Though my box cost $800.....Is your your closet as nice? Clothing? The ONLY snap-on tool I insisted on having was the micrometer all the rest of my welding tools were canox or craftsman, only because snap-on would replace the micrometer when no-one else would, if you drop it it is useless and needs to be replaced for tool & die repair you need to have a precise measurement. I havent seen the new toolboxes as I have been out of the biz for some time.Just my 2 cents.

The tooling work I 'doo now is mostly robotic spot welder repair work. They've taken the skilled part out of our work & as a result I think everyone's morale & attitudes have suffered http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif We now call micrometers "calibrated C clamps" http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Maybe they thought that more women are in the tool using fields and were trying to be politically correct?

I checked the website & they didn't have any mention. Maybe it was a Canada only deal?

Too bad the PC police got after them http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif I have one of the little calendars from I think the last year they had the girls on them.

Ridgid Tool used to have good calendars too http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
