Hey all, my buddy needs some advice, he's got the sled mentioned in the title.He bought it with the oil injection system disabled, so he's been mixing the gas 20:1, but the freakin thing smokes like crazy, and fouls up his plugs, would anyone suggest mixing it leaner cause he's a little nervous on doing so. He's gonna take the carbs and get them setup professionally. I keep tellin him to hook up the injection system, but he's set on mixing the gas manually(doesn't trust the injection system i guess)

i seen a whole complete engine that runs with the injection setup on it on www.ebay.com if he did hook up the oil injection and it quits the only thing the engine would do is stall. this happend to me quite a few times a couple years back.
about the complete engine on ebay he could use as a spare just in case he blew up the one he has now.

I'm suprised it even runs. I believe the oil injection runs a variable 100:1 down to 50:1 depending on throttle position. I no longer have the manual for that sled so I cannot say what the pre-mix ratio should be. I would at least use a 40:1 mix and then go leaner on the oil from there.

If he is running the br9ev plugs in it that fouling must be costing him a fortune.

Thanx a million fuzz, I was thinkin somewhat on the same lines, cause my little 78' 340 EX does the same thing. You don't know where to get a piston and rings for that do ya?? Its peeps like you who make this sport all worth while. I love wrenchin on these things now!!!!!

look up on ebay they gotta have something there. the always do and shipping for pistons and rings would be about 7-14$ depending on if the persons trying to scam you on shipping :cool:
