Russ Wheeler, character from Days of Thunder. He wasn't particularly a good guy, just liked the way the name sounded. Must have been watching it when I signed up or something. Real name is Keith, so not even close...

Seems that I've read these before..... :dazed: Oh well, this topic is always popular.

I've been 'The Hossman' to all my friends for as long as I can remember.... and I fail to remember exactly when, why or how it all came about.

My co-workers, business relations and family all know me as my other 'handle' - Chris.....

Bauer

Well, mine is just my last name. If i would have used my nick name though, there is actually a story behind that one, and no one in town knows me by my real name really.

C'mon Chris! What's the real story? Spike is my nickname and Gary is my 1st. Believe it or not it's a hair thing. My boss and I were at the barbershop, I told the cutter not to take it too short, because I didn't want it to spike. Of course, he cut it too short. My boss started calling me Spike that day. Weird but true.

Eh, nothing too special with mine. My Name's Tom. I was born in 1968. I was just looking for something different when I was signing one one forum or another, and have just used this screen name since.

There ARE some on here that I've wondered what the story behind the name was. . .

I put a little thought into my decision when I decided just use my real name. I figured that if I ever met up with anyone from the site for a ride, that it would be easier to be called by my real name than my alter ego. Or maybe I just tend to overthink things
