ok last year i swaped a edge susp into my 97 ultra sp and its been great! exept for one thing. every time you lift up on the rear bumper (or take a jump) the susp goes all the way down, and then hits the rear blocks (witch i moved all the way forward to try and fix it) the suspention locks and then the trasnfer rods will bend, then break later. is there suppposed to be a limiter strap on the back? also it don't lock up, when it "clicks" into the postion after you lift up the bumper or jump, it will go down about 3-4'' and it bounces back up but when it goes down it stops at the point where the susp can't go any farther unless the rods bend. i reaplaced the things 4 times last year and double checked everything every time i changed them, the mounting holes are all in teh corect spot. and as long as the rear arm dosn't rest on the rear blocks the susp works just fine. now i rode the last half of the season with the rods broken. it worked but i want this susp to be all it can be this year.

Is the forward (rear) shock mount going past center, not standing up any more when it locks up? Is the lower mounting bolt on that shock mount arm set in the middle of the 3 available positions? If it is, and it is going past center and locking up, would it help to move it to the rear hole?
Anyway, this link was posted recently on another web site by somebody that knows what they are doing. You might want to check your dimensions against these. Others considering an Edge conversion may want to file this drawing too.

Curious, hope you'll keep us posted on your findings.

yah!! thats right i totally forgot about that bottom mount! thats what locks into place! if the susp goes all the way up it makes the bottom mount go back, then when the sled goes down the mount goes down and locks into place!

So which hole is it mounted in? Is there a hole towards the rear from where it is now?

The plan is to keep it from going past center no matter what position the suspension is in. I'm guessing you need to go back (towards rear of sled) one hole from wherever it's at to do that.
