According to my Indy 500 manual it says you cant stud an Indy 500 track and being I'm going to be riding on lakes a little this year I was wondering if it is ok to, if not why not, or if there's anyway to stud them safely?

im fairly certain you can stud that track. as long as your studs are not to long and they tear into stuff. if its the stock track from 1990 its probly fairly worn down to the nubs by now. and youd be surprised at how much more tration youd get from a track update. a round here you can get a decent used 1'' lug 121 any wares from $75- $200. other wise.... you probly have a .75'' lug or a .875'' lug. if its .75'' go with .875'' studs and if there .875'' go with 1'' studs either way you shouldn;t need more then 72-96 dependin on how you ride

No the track was replaced by the last owner and its in great shape. I still dont know if I'm certain I am going to stud it or not though.
