LadyK has told us about her neighbour from ####. Any other horror stories out there?

When I was about 4 years old, my parents bought a lot on Chandos Lake (near Permafrost & LadyK's abode) and built a cabin on it. From what I am told, the way the guy carried on they were afraid they would get up there on a Friday night to find a smouldering pile of rubble. They sold it after a year and built a cottage west of Carnarvon (north of Minden)

A friend of mine had a neighbour who freaked out whenever he had his sled running in the garage. It wasn't loud, just the stock pipes.

I have seniority with mine. The neighbours to the west, moved in during '95 & the neighbours on the other side a week ago.

I don't have the sled running a lot, just getting ready in the fall & loading & unloading for the weekend. Stock exhaust too.

I have a very good relationship with my present neighbors, but I have had a bad expierience with former neighbors.

* * * * On some land my father aquired, I am sure it was about 10 acres near Crystal Lake, we had put a double-wide on it, but in order to get power to it, the wires would have to go through their land, and they didn't want that, it got ugly, and the only thing I remember is the smell of rotten eggs the morning after a long "Dicsussion" with them. *Well, we sold that property, and haven't had a bad expierience since.

not a bad neighbor infact a great one, we generally keep to ourselfs, and an interesting character in his own right. my dad refers to him as the Vogon Warrior from Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, who would literally bore you to death with endless banter!

when i first moved in i vigilantly cleaned up my dog's &^%$ *of his lawn regulary, but soon laxed off.
he is a Mopar man from way back and has almost any concievable part that you may need.

My current neighbours are pretty much the way I like 'em. *They leave me alone, and I leave them alone. *When we do talk, everything is friendly, despite my place being the ugliest house on the street.

My previous "neighbour" though.........

He lived on a corner house and had three kids, and was divorced. *I had a house on two lots, and three dogs. *His kids would run around the neighbourhood out of control at any time of the day or night. *They would often steal mail, go onto peoples property and turn on the water spigots, destroy bushes, etc...

They, for whatever reason, developed a particlular interest in the German Shepperd that I had then. *They tormented this dog to the extent of making him viscious. *Talking to the neighbour was useless. *I basically had to threaten his kids with their lives to get them to leave the dogs alone, after I put the GSD down. *This a$$holes response was for me to get rid of ALL of my dogs, as they were "too dangerous" for his "kids" to be around. *He even went so far as to drum up support from the rest of the neighbourhood to try to force me to get rid of my wolfdog. *He failed miserably - to the point of drumming up support to FIGHT him!! *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

The neighbourhood cheered the day that those brats went permanently to their mother. *Seems that not much of anybody liked this idiot.

I live next door to the "Hand-Crusher"!

He moved in less than a year ago, and upon mine and everyone else in the area meeting him, he had successfully crushed everyones hand upon his first meeting! Since then we have yet to introduce him to anymore of our friends.

Ouch.

In North Dakota, don't they call that "too close for comfort"? :-)

My friend who had the neighbour from #### spent way too much time talking to the bylaw officer. The idiot would call the city about something. Send the officer over & he'd look things over. My friend was never in the wrong.

Meanwhile the neighbour's daughter wraps her Mustang around a pole (without insurance) & it sits in the driveway for over a year.

I live on a corner lot so I only have to deal with one neighbor that needs to move. *He doesn't take care of his house, we're constantly at each others throats. *He has had a 1960's trailer parked in the front of his driveway for a week now. *It wouldn't be bad if it was newer, but it looks like something that Fred Sanford would reject. *I infact had my property taxes lowered because of him. *The city tried to raise my taxes to $2500 a year but I debated it with photos of the dump next door, now they are $1400. *I did some clutching work in 98 on my new ZR and ran it around the block, I no sooner ran it in the garage, closed it and went in the house and the cops were knocking on my door. *I wondered who called, hmm *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sarcasm.gif Glad I didn't answer the door, they would have ticketed me and impounded my sled.

My neighbours are lovely! The one across the street is the local moonshine-dealer. Next to me are a couple that are like 90 or something, I never see them. On the other side is a guy that's around 50 with his wife and kid, he likes good music so he's cool... Then behind me, those neighbours have actually built a fence so their dog would stop herassing my cats! Of course my cats can still take a dump in their potatoe field, but they hide it very well http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

So no complaints here.. I've only lived here for 1.5 months or something now, and don't seem to have any enemies yet http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

This village is quite fun, there's a lot of gossip spreading extremely fast. Before I moved, a friend heard from someone that there would been moving a Dutch guy (this would be me) into town, and he would be the new English teacher at the local school. Then after I moved, another guy heard that an Australian booze dealer had moved to my street. This would be me as well. I know how they got the booze part (my neighbour) but the Australian part remains a mystery. And then last week a friend who helped me move here was having his hair cut, and somehow they ended up talking about the town I lived before (it's about 600 miles away) and the girl cutting his hair asked what he was doing there.. "Oh, picking up a Dutch guy and his stuff" "Dutch? I thought he was German". So now I wonder what my next nationality will be! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Snowmonkey- you need to get some serious death metal to entertain your neighbour, if it is before 11 pm you can listen as loud as you want http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif

Nico- I learned when i moved up here from toronto that small towns have little else to entertain them, when we first moved here and the townies got a look at some of our toys people assumed we were dope dealers being from toronto and having a few toys and the fact that i have a few tattoos and permafrost used to have waist length hair like me. Being young didnt help either. After 5 yrs they finally figured out we were just sick of grime, crime, and slime so we moved here.

I have one other neighbour I would love to move in fact the whole community would love them to move. Their female dog has harrassed every dog in the area and their children are the most god awfull kids I have ever met. My son has had nothing but problems with their girls. One was caught at school performing felatio on *a boy at school (she was 11 at the time),drinking Mikes hard lemonade, and watching porn with the children in the area. The parents of these children are never around and I'd love to clock the mother, I have come close on 2 occasions, but common sense kicked in. So I keep having my friends buy houses in the area. Maybe in 10 yrs we will own the whole area http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

You have to be careful Lady, some communities like mine have unwritten laws saying that no matter what time it is, if you are disturbing your neighbors peace you can still get ticketed.

LadyK, I heard about that episode (shaking my head). This past weekend it was a steady parade of young mothers pushing their strollers. I asked my Mother who they were. She says she has no idea.

I've been in Apsley since I was 12 (going on 41 now) & for the most part I haven't got a clue who most of the people are anymore.

Up there the working locals are really resentful of the people who move back for the welfare. I bet if I lost my job down here & moved back, built a shack on the bush lot, the township would tell me to go to $%^&.

One of the guys I hunt with had some white trash from Oshawa move in down the street. The cops were there all the time (kids fighting at school) Finally moved out.

As long as you're working & not being a nuisance most people won't mind you.

I think once I have my sled at home people will start wondering what the #### I'm doing for a living also... I don't leave home for work (I work from home instead), so they probably think I'm unemployed, and the toy collection just got started.. Last week for some reason I had 7 cars on my lawn on the middle of the day, instead of the regular 2, and the guy across the street also had some visitors, plus he has 4 cars himself. I noticed a lot of people going by really really slow.. Usually there's about 3 or 4 cars per hour or something, and suddenly the whole village felt the need to come by and check out what was going on here...

I just think it's funny. Love to hear the latest gossip about myself and my friends http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

A really nice thing about small villages is that you meet people that you know everywhere.. I used to live in a quite big city before I moved here, I lived there for about 2 years, and I can count the number of times I walked into someone I knew on one hand... Quite a difference..

I had 2 super neighbours. One side is 3 brothers and 1 sister all over 68 years of age and only use it for vacations. The other side was Chuck and his wife both over 80. He had a Chevy Luv truck that he would drive around the yards and pick up tree branches and stuff, used it like a lawn cart. I'd come home from work and he had it all pick up, Cool! Then he told me he was going to sell because of the all the TAX he was paying ($1000 per month) So the DNR bought it and put in a boat launch. If you think it stinks to deal with the DNR on a sled or hunting or fishing...you should have them as a neighbour!!! I don't have the time to type all the problems..

That's funny, my step-dad and brother have a Chevy Luv used for the same purpose!
One of my neighbors shot my dog in the back of the head with a BB gun last week. *I know who didn't do it, but I have no idea who did. *Gave him a nice welt and a cut. *He probably deserved it anyway.

hehehe......

I bet that I would be able to drive THEM (DNR) out of the 'hood.

I have 5 barrels of used cooking oil waiting on me to get busy processing fuel for the truck and tractor. *As part of the process, soap is made (yes, from grease). *I normally burn this stuff off with my trash, but it is environmentally harmless. *Let the stuff set up after siphoning off the fuel from the gunk, and send 'em rather nasty looking slippery plugs of goo. * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif

The crud looks nasty, but can be composted.

Furthermore, pile up all of my tree cuttings, junk left by the previous owner that I haven't gotten off of my lazy a$$ yet to throw out, line up my cars and trailers along their property line, and even send 'em the "dog food" that the dogs are finished "using." *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif
