I have an 01 ZR 800 and I have many orange accessories on it. I would like to paint my skid frame orange too.

1. Is there a special way to paint aluminum? Do I just use primer and then the paint?

2. What orange paint is a match for Arctic Cat accessory orange?

3. Does this same orange color come in high temp? May possibly paint the muffler to give an added kick when you open the hood.

I know the green is called grabber green by duplicolor. I have used this paint with some success.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

What do you guys think about painting the muffler orange? --- I don't want people to think that I should have a rainbow sticker on the mud flap! LOL

Thanks

Dave

To paint your aluminum skid frame make sure it is super clean no grease, scuff down real good and use a good primer and then paint away, Iam sure that it will work fine. dont know about what color it is or if its avaliable in high temp.

I wouldn't paint the aluminum--either anodize or powdercoat it.
Lowell at Powderall, up in Embarrass, does excellent powdercoating at a real good price.

Just go get some safety orange spraypaint. It's probably a great match. I'm thinking of doing that for my hood screens, since I"m getting orange skis.

I've used hi-temp bbq paint on the muffler. I've only seen it in black, white, and dark green, though. Works great.
