We discussed this abit last spring, but the magazines have been curiously slient about it. With Cat's switch to the Diamon Drive on all it's performance sleds what have they done to get reverse on them? Are we going to see alot of people dragging their slaeds around by the rear end this winter?
Is their anyone that would not buy a certain sled if they couldn't get reverse on it? Certainly with the long-tracks it gets VERY inconvient if you can't back-up.

NO REVERSE HOW SMART IS THAT ON CATS PART.
On my part I would never buy a sled without reverse on it. Once you had reverse once you cannot go back to a no reverse sled. NEVER. I think they will loose many buyers because of this. I better like to have 15 pounds more to carry on the sled than trying to carry a 500pound sled.

Well, it cost cat at least one sale. I was all set to spring order a retro F6 until I found out at the spring show that reverse could only be ordered on Fcat's with the standard graphics in the spring and not on the special graphic selds (team, retro, joker and spider)
I've been toying with the idea of still getting a retro (some dealers ordered extra retro's and have them sitting on the floor) and hoping a reverse kit comes along that will retro (no pun intended) fit the retro
I see a dealer somewhat near me has an '05 Red Fcat with reverse for sale. Cat surly missed the boat on the DD and reverse. :(

reverse is available on sabercat
and isn't that also a diamonddrive sled?
I believe saber cats are not diamond drive. At greenville none of the SBCats had it that I saw and the Fcats that had rev still had a chain case.

performancex, no the Sabrecat is not , just the F-cat
I,ll have to find the new magazines I just got, but at least one of them says the diamond drive manufacturer said reverse is enginered and availible for it, but cat has chose not to offer it at this time, it then goes on to speculate about Cat looking in to licencing the RER tech., wouldnt that be nice.
So its out there we,ll just have to see what happens.

That's what I thought. It's not so bad, I just find it silly that the magazines keep talking about how wonderfully light they're going to be, but most of them will still have the chaincase, because really, who's going to buy a machine that you can't put reverse on.
I bought my SKS with no reverse and thought I could live with it, but a month later I laid out the 700 bucks to be able to back it up.

from one magazine the diamond drive reverse has went back to the drawing board and another magazine says that arctic cat will have rer.

RER would be the ultimate answer, but the word from the reps last spring is that there was NO WAY Ski-doo or Polaris was going to licence yet. But I suppose if the price is right....And no amount of money would be too much.

Supertrax reported it, that AC has the parts for reverse, just not ready for production.
