Hi all, wondering stats on this sled, good power, good ride, etc etc (good or bad). your experiences if any? I may be able to pick one up for $2500, 3400 miles, nice shape, all accesories on it already. skid plate etc etc. Thank you very much.

I have a 99 600 XC and I like it. It has an excellent ride and the power is good for a 600 so I'm sure you will think the same about the 700. Lots of good after market parts for this sled too.

Our '99 XC SP is the 500 model, that my wife rides. So I would think that the 700 is very similar, but with more power under the hood.

I have to say I am impressed with the ride quality, over our '98. The '99 feels like it sits up higher, but steering and cornering are significantly improved with that chassis. Given the short season that we've had since owning the '99, I have not had the chance to do a long trail ride, but it's ride felt awesome running the local rail beds and lakes. Really opened my eyes after riding the same terrain on the older '98.

The SP package consisted of the upgraded rear shock, and a seat geared for more aggressive riding, with added padding on the sides for your knee area. Not sure what else is different from a base XC model.

I've not come across any big problems talked about online with that vintage sled. 'Course I could have missed something, but just sharing what I've learned so far.

a very good ride ! This thing takes the twisties just as well as the srx. The power is around 118 hp. You may want to make sure the brake recall was done on that sled, also a change in needles will cure that bog . The 99 had less ski stance than the 2000 and they also increased the fuel tank size in 2000 and redid the seat because of complaints, a 9 OUT 10 for me !

My 99 was great. Two things that were bad. The exhaust was loud that year and would really rumble through my helmet (headaches). Gas mileage wasn't that great. Stock jetting I was getting maybe 8mpg tops. It was stock rich so I leaned it down some and got to about 10mpg.
