ok ive got a old vmax sittin in the back of my garage takin up space, (one pistons fryed) nad i was just curious as to what the possibilitys are on this sled? its got over bored wiseco pistons oversized carbs clutched possibly ported. what kind of power did these sleds make? i myself have never rode it a friend new the guy and he said load it up its yours. and that was that. i did try get it running at first n thats when i found it to have 135lbs on the clutch side and 30 on the other. im thinkin about makin a frankenstien out of it, (p.s what kind of top speed are these capible of stock?) such as custom paint (blue chrome) palstic skis 144'' long trach with a xtra 10 or something along that lines (how big of a lug will fit in there?) and a tube bumper with grill guard and kc lights

Stock for these sleds put out around 90hp, They are a blast to ride, nimble and go like stink for old iron. What year is it? I myself would find a 1997+ zr skid and widen the front end out o it......(that is very easy) some plastic skis.(skidoo flex skis) and if you want to be really wild put in a larger motor, say a large roatx twin? I made a 670 fit in a 1978 RV340, with a bit of modding mind you.......still working on a pipe......but anything is possible.....if you decide to part the motor...I am looking for a set of pipe flanges for a 540 max.

so how do you widen the front susp? and why the zr susp?

and they only had 90ish hp? thats a lil disapointing my 81 blizzard 440 liquid had 95 stock and i was actually hopin for over 100 hp (not that it really matters)

so witch susp's out there where the most noctorious for weight transfer? i want this thing to stand straight up with its long track. (keep in mind this is not my primary sled only one for messing around on)

I think the low 80's 440 rotax liquids were closer to 75hp.

I think 95 is a closer estimate, or at least thats what I've always been told...the 9500=95hp, 7500=75hp, 5500=55 hp and so on....or at least in that range

so can you widen the front up your self? or do you have to buy a kit? cause i havn't been able to find a kit yet

Bender Racing used to sell a kit, but you can build your own if you with minimal experiance, its just a matter of cutting the main cross member tube and extending it out an ich or so on each end and rewelding it.

well i guess i'll just have to look into it some more, i havn't ever looked under the vmax, i just unloaded her off the truck and put herinthe shed
