Does anyone know of a good way to install a standard gas tank on a 2001 Ski-Doo MXZ 700? Can I use lubicant on the hose to better fit in and seal the tank?

I need help. :bash:

as for a seal, is there not a grommet that seals the tank connection ? a lube might be used to slide the connector in the tank so you don't ruin the grommet.

actually, when a little friction is needed, too much lube can be your enemy

Ok don't give me a hard time on this one but.....I just used spit to put the fitting back in the tank and seal. Hey it worked for me.

a mothers spit can take rust off a car bumper so it must be good for other things too.

I thought about using lube but, the problem is holding the hose in the gas tank once inserted.
My solution to the problem was to con my brother into sticking his small little fingers between the air intake and the gas tank to connect the hose into the tank.

Having brothers that are smaller than you is always a plus (except when fighting somone else and need help).

It sounds like you need to take out your airbox that will give you tons of room.
Once the airbox is out its a sinch.

The tank it's self is easy to take off. just remove the seat and You'll see the spring/metal holding the tank on. Sure makes the job easy. Careful not to rip the rubber plug when inserting it. I did on the first one. Once you sink a sled you'll be an expert at tank removal.

With all that, this has remained to be a serious topic. I'm impressed!
