: "how bad do you have it?"
LicknOutaTheCatsDish 06-10-2002, 11:14 AM Sure you like snowmobiling....but we want to know "how bad do you have it?"
Do you turn your air conditioner all the way down so you can sit in your new jacket and bibs?
I got it bad, real bad, let's hear guys!
LadyK 06-10-2002, 11:29 AM We have it so bad that is all we talk about. Not 1 day goes by that we arent telling sled stories or planning trips for next season. We are looking into renting a house for the winter in cochrane. There has even been talk around the kitchen table of grass dragging down the road from here and water skipping at Chandos lake.Every day I wear something with ski-doo on it. At work I have sled pics of me and permafrost on the fridge so when it is 120 in the bakery I have my moment of zen right there.I am wriggling with anticipation for upcoming sled season.Work is secondary in the winter sledding comes first. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif *
If the snow doesnt come to you....GO FIND IT!!!
machz69 06-10-2002, 11:37 AM lol. yup believe me lady and permafrost are tru sled heads.. i know i ment them but i am the same way...lol im getting ready to race asphalt this weakend .. i run my sled all year long. *went i went ridding with lady and prema, my buddy said i think these people are just as bent as i am............loli never get tired of sleds, sleds storie, sled racing.
There is nothing wrong with shinning your sled every day, comming on SW to see new sled stories or just to talk about sleds cause everyone around you thinks your a freak cause you hope its gonna snow in june http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *Putting on your helmet and sitting on your sled making vrommm vrommm sounds with your mouth... Yep, i think i have it bad *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif
Team_Arctic 06-10-2002, 12:42 PM yeah i got it bad too... just yesterday i went out to the shed and i had to "check" on the sled *make sure it was still there and clean off the little bit of dust hehe then i sat there for a while thinkin about next years ride already *we all must have sum life huh hehe http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
revrnd 06-10-2002, 12:47 PM Working on the motel list for sledders *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Places must think I'm nuts asking about trail access & trailer parking in June http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
jwheeler 06-10-2002, 01:53 PM I am always shining it, soon the paint will be rubbed off. *I started it up the other day just to rev it and listen to the exaust note and i almost gassed myself, my buddy down the road could see the smoke coming out the door and hear it running. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I'm a lot on the net trying to find new add ons I can put on my sled. I 'm on this site at least 5 times a day and as most of you, I repeatadly shine my sled when I go to the cottage. I also spent a day with my brother at the dealership looking thru microfiche and parts just for fun. My brother has it bad too, he even ordered and received his REV tarp last week, it's apparently the first one to be available to customers.
ARCTICZRT600 06-10-2002, 05:38 PM I have it bad but probably not as bad as some. *I have a bunch of pics on the wall in my office and a million pics in my computer that I change often as the desktop theme. *I have my sled at my cabin but I keep a spare hood in my garage down here just to remember how it looks in person.
I have it bad. I let my buddy have my trailer in the off season. He puts his 2 sleds on it and it is stored in a barn ten miles away. I must have my sleds at home.It just would not feel right if they were not at home and I couldn't see them whenever I wanted to. The guys at work think I am nuts cause I talk about snowmobiling all the time, even in the summer. Just a couple weeks ago we went to the dealer to shoot the breeze. I bought new carbides and put them on the 700 already. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
michahicks 06-10-2002, 06:51 PM I have it so bad that:
I can't remember not having it
I had to build (3 years, still workin on it!http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif a second home in snow country so I wouldn't *have exotic motel bills as an excuse not to go.
A lot of my friends have decided to give up on "normal" lives and have joined me.
My wife decided she would rather be somewhere else (poor bas##rd)
I find it difficult to sell a sled, unless it's to a friend. I would rather keep it for a spare to lure another friend into the sport!
There's more but....
Was that a snowflake?

Sled Dogg 06-10-2002, 08:59 PM I have it so bad that each of the 10 to 30 times a day that I check in on the site , if there are no new posts my heart drops. Is there an 800# I can call for help? And not the catolog company's number you guys and (gals http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif ).

Wolfman 06-10-2002, 09:36 PM How bad do I have it??
People that come over to my house put on jackets. (no kidding)
I sent in for Ski-doo literature in the hopes of getting power specs for the V1000 4 stroke engine to compare to the Yamaha claims. (didn't have any http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif )
I'm in here at least 4 or 5 times a night while at work. (too busy with home projects at home).
I found myself looking for pictures of snowstorms the other night (where I found the live webcam in MT of the blizzard).
My co-workers think that I'm certifiably insane. * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *
I'm already trying to figure out how I can afford another *winter trip to YNP next February.
I'm living on a shoestring budget so that I can pay off bills early and buy a new sled (and replace the Saturn).
I even eyeballed an old new stock rotary engine on Ebay with the thoughts of plunking in the JD chassis.
revrnd 06-10-2002, 09:59 PM sled Dogg, I think I'm suffering the same illness as you http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *Is there a support group we can see? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Wolfman 06-10-2002, 11:33 PM Now why would you want to see a support group? *I kinda LIKE this addiction. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Besides, normal sucks!
revrnd 06-11-2002, 02:50 AM Like a co-worker used to say, "There is no gravity, the earth sucks!"
PurpleZRT 06-11-2002, 03:39 AM How about offering to mow the neighbors yard just so you can get a better smell of his two stroke lawnboy? *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
LabradorBoy 06-11-2002, 11:23 AM Ohhhhh man,
Don't even get me started on this one!
I'd say I've got it worse than ALL of you!
I'm currently working on my project sled EVERY night! *It's awesome...and you get great deals on all your parts because it's the off-season!
Can't wait until the Fall!!!
-Rob
Hey rob, what are you ridding when your not on a hawk ?
Wolfman 06-11-2002, 08:25 PM I have something else that I need to add to my list posted a cople of days ago. *I found myself pricing land in Montana. *The land that I looked at - only accessable by snowmobile in winter!!! * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Fast Mach Z 06-11-2002, 10:28 PM I too have been working on the sled. I buy parts from Bill Cudney and he gives me technical support. I have to wash and wax it in the next few weeks. I have mixed up some special summer fuel to keep it running. I think about sledding about 5 days of the week! I can't wait for snow this next winter. I check about 4 sled web sites every other night or so. I get down in the dumps when there are no new posts. Yup, I have it BAD!!!! Remember, I'm the guy who equated riding with 500 lbs of aluminum between your legs with good sex. It just doesn't get any better. When the sleds sits at 8000 rpm screaming away, I just grin from ear to ear! Ahhh winter sex!
LicknOutaTheCatsDish 06-12-2002, 12:01 PM Well the wife doesn't believe me anymore that running my *sled on the weekends is for mosquito control.
Get this, I have been taking my shocks in for service...one at a time, just so I can shoot the breeze with the cat dealer, they don't seem to mine, as they are a little lonely right now.
Really I have been taking two at a time as I didn't want to become to much a pest.
I'm afraid the next trip is going to be costly as they have a 4 place V-nose that was ordered for a customer and backed out, they don't want to sit on it all summer and have been tempting me or rather my wallet...might just be time to "belly up to the bar"
Yeah...I have it bad, real bad, it ain't good! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif
Skidoowes 06-12-2002, 05:57 PM Ahh.... a group of people I can relate too.. I don't feel so crazy anymore... theres others like me!
Frostbit 06-12-2002, 10:37 PM How baaaad do I have it?
This weekend I dumped 25 pounds of flour on the kitchen floor so I could lay in it and make snow angels.
Yaaa I got it baaaad

TallCool1 06-26-2002, 03:07 AM Well, for starters my 4 yr old has his summer t-shirt that says "my favorite color is Arcticat Green", made to look like a child's handwriting. *Like someone else stated, I hate to put my sled in storage, so I leave it in my garage and start it every couple weeks...neighbors wonder what the #### that thing is. *Have had my suit hanging in plain view in the computer room just 'til last week. *Just told my 4 yr old tonight as he was playing w/one of his die cast snowmobiles, "just 6 more months Tyler"...my wife says "6 months 'til what...oh not already!!" *This morning I was just looking at the trail maps and remembering what great trips we had last winter, despite the poor snow. *Wallpaper at office PC is of snowmobiles.
Oooohhhh yeaaahhhh, got it bad here too!
performancex 06-26-2002, 04:03 PM Last July I was talking to my step-dad on the phone and he asked me to go riding with him in winter. *At the time I was like, "Wow, he's got it bad." *But what the heck, so do I!
I will look at the picture of this year ride at Old Forge Ny at least five time a day. Or if that don't work I start playing either sled storm 1 or sled storm 2. If that don't work I sit on the old sled and start making engine noises. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
witni 06-30-2002, 12:38 PM boy do i have it bad. i go to the dealer at least once a week if i need anything or not. when there is a party at my house we get the sleds out and grass drag and then skip some water on the pond in my backyard. i am usually in the shed every day working on the sleds. just want to make sure they are ready to roll when i see that first snowflake. i keep watching the corn fields. the taller the corn gets the closer to winter it is.( cant it grow any faster?) boy do i have it bad! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
liquid600 06-30-2002, 01:12 PM Yeah................me too!!!!

madsledhead 06-30-2002, 10:11 PM Yep. got it bad.
Just like every summer, I do rebuilds. Currently got 3 in the shop now. Summerizing a sled?-Whats that all about. My engines run every couple of days. Never any time to fog one.
My buddies tease me but I tell them - why do people work on there sled in the snow seasons? Personally I like to work on them in the off season so I can RIDE in the snow season.
Saguenay Bill 06-30-2002, 10:48 PM My summer routine is:
1. Get the trail maps out every Sunday.
2. Plan the winter trips. At least 3, 7 to 10 day. Look up Motels to stay at. Figure on 250 to 300 miles per day.
3. Reread last years magazines.
4. Last summer I was in LA. I looked up snowmobiling in CA on the internet. I found an area East of Bakersfield. Drove 500 miles, round trip, on a Sat. to check it out.
My office walls are full of snowmobling stuff, I have an Ontario and Quebec snowmobile maps on the wall of my garage. Since 1995, I have color coded the trails that I have ridden each year in a different color. I put a TV and VCR in my garage, and play trip tapes we've made, sled mfg. promotional tapes and sled head tapes. Neighbors, who don't know that I snowmobile, must think I'm some kind of a nut. Oh well, to each his own. Remember " you can't have anymore fun with your clothes on than SNOWMOBILING.
