Hey. just wondering bout the x-10 in my SS, last year i rode it seemed fine, mite have bottomed out once or twice very rarely.. sat nice and high.. this year when i took it out of storage (sat on stand most of summer), it seems to sit low and didn't want to come back up to its fullest height potential.. after few days it sorta now sits lil higher, but still doesn't seem to want to come back up if ur sittin on it or pushing down on it.. cud this been weak springs? or wud it be time for a new rear shock, possibly 2 .. would greasing everything up help ??

Any help appriciated.. wanna get er goin for the season.. Thanks

I'd vote on your shocks being shot...time for some new ones!

Shocks have absolutely nothing to do with ride height, or wether or not the suspension returns to the top when pushed on. It's about the springs, and how freely the suspension parts are working.

You should have greased the suspension before storing it. That would have forced out any moisture that may have collected over that winter's use. Would also have prevented corrosion on a lot of the big moving parts that are most likely causing the problem you describe. The cure now, to do it right, would be to remove the suspension, pull it down and inspect for broken/badly worn parts, check all bogie bearings for smoothness, lube everything up good, and reassemble.

At the very least, your sled is due for a lube job. The suspension parts are not working freely. Once they are, like after you've lubed it up and put a few miles on it once the snow hits, then you can set your springs for proper ride height with the adjusting cams. If you are unable to set it with about 2"- 3" of sag with your weight on it, THEN it is probably time for new springs.

With proper sag set, FRSS and RRSS set per recomendations, if your sled continues to bottom easily, it's time to consider having the shocks checked out.

Wats RRss and FRss.. ?? I'm 220 shud my springs be set to the firmest setting or are they ok at the med setting? When i'm on it, sled really sits low, i seem to think it shudn't really sag that much.. Dealer told me that shocks where ok, said nothing about springs tho? also the supersport has the indy select rear shocks, what shoud they be set at? I'm new to the Xtra-10, just need a few tips on how my rear skid shud be set up.. thanks
