: Mxz Vs. Renegade
sledhead10 10-31-2004, 06:34 PM I will be purchasing a new 2005 MXZ REV in the next couple of days. I'm trying to decide on either the MXZ Adrenaline 600 H.O. SDI or the Rnegade 600 H.O. SDI. I've heard great things about both. Ride mostly Muskokas, North Bay, Georgian Bay areas. Love the look of the Renegade. Any suggestions ? I heard the long track is still great for handling. Also is it worth picking up an 04 model ? Is the extra $1500 for an 05 worth it ?
permafrost 10-31-2004, 07:11 PM It is an easy decision. If you don't spend all your time on single wide twisty trails then it will be superior almost everywhere else. What you lose on top end, it more than makes up for it out of the hole. My 3 cents

snokid 600 10-31-2004, 07:12 PM Well if you can find a 04 SDI I would go for it. I myself own a 05 Rev Renegade 600HO SDI and love the sled. One thing on the 05 machines is that they have a 16" wide powder max track instead of the standard 15" wide on the Renegade. As far as you choosing between a 121" Mxz and a 136" Renegade depends on your riding style. If you ride mostly or only trails then I would say go with the 121", but if you ride off trail 50% of the time then go with the 136" renegade. The renegade will also handle the bumps on the trails a bit better then the 121" sled but on tight trails you will notice that the Renegade is not as agile as the short tracks.

LadyK 11-02-2004, 06:38 AM I hardly ever leave the trail and I would never go back to 121 again :) I dont have any trouble with trail riding. BTW the last sled I had before going 136 was an mxz 700. :)
As a 121 owner, I'd have to say go with the 'Gade!
rob7374 11-02-2004, 10:38 AM After riding both I say go with the 121" track. I just prefer it for my riding style.
MikeD 11-02-2004, 11:54 AM I currently ride a 121" and I rarely go off trail (not on purpose anyway  ) BUT after spending some time last year on a couple of 'gades I'm stretching mine to 136". I love the ride and the ABILITY to go off .... or to have more fun in the deep stuff on the back lakes ......

Thanks everyone...Sounds like the Renegade will be the one....how's the power on the 600 HO SDI ? Is it pretty quick? Whats the top end like ? Is it worth going to an 800 HO ? ..currently riding an 02 700 MXZ ...
Great web site by the way...have been surfing it for 2 seasons but only joined recently...
dwhee 11-02-2004, 01:22 PM Welcome abord, this is the best place for snowmobilers to meet and exchange info.

The 600HO should be fairly close to the 02 700. We owned a 02 mxz 700. If you plan on moding out the 600ho then don't bother , just go for the 800HO right off the bat and be done with it. :) SWRules
dpaige 11-02-2004, 03:30 PM Go with the SDI renegade, you won't regret it.
doonut 11-04-2004, 08:33 AM I have both a 600 121 incher and an 800 136 gade. Guess which one I ride?
Seriously, unless you are riding bush trails, the only difference you will notice in the trails is the gade eats bumps better. Well taht and the extra pull from corner to corner due to traction benefits. As soon a doo brings out a 1000 gade, my 121 is history, wife gets the gade 800 and I get the new one :)

I have 05 gade and it just fits in my 10 foot Triton Elite with Bearcat top, sometimes when I go to open the top I must reach underneath and push the snowflap ahead.
