I am setting the Tow in/out on my 2000 MXZ 440, and 1999 MXZ 600. The book I have says that there should be no toe in or out, it should be straight up and should be adjusted with the front end off of the ground. These measurements dont seem right to me. Could someone verify them for me please? :bash:

It is my understanding that dual-runner skis go straight up, but single-runners should always be 1/8" out.

Thank you, that sounds reasonable. Do you set the toe with a strap on the front of the skis pulling them together and the sled off of the ground in the front? And should you measure equal distance in front and behind the pivot point? The Bombardier book is very vague

There isn't really that much play when you lift off the skis (but if yours has I would lightly strap the front). I checked my REV that way yesterday and it was spot on - measured using a tape measure on the support ribs running back from the mount.

for a total between the two skis of 1/4".

But then, if your rod ends are so loose that you can move the ski tips in and out 1/4", setting the toe barely makes any sense.

for the slack i am sure the reason for the bungie cord across the ski tips comes into place.
