I know forums are slow lately, so I figured I'd try to start a new thread. *I got hooked on Junk Yard Wars a couple of years ago. I build stuff from scratch myself, but wondered what you guys and gals thought of this show. Nothing like the smell of metal burning from an arc welder. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

####, i thought this would be a contest on who has the biggest junkyard http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

in that case i would have a friend that has about 30 old volvos in his backyard, a load of spare parts all over the place, and best of all, a PILE with engines http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif he had 22 engines on that pile last time i counted them!

and then he has a friend, i've been there once to check out a dodge charger that he was going to take to a real junkyard, see if there were any parts to be saved from that. anyway, that guy has a pile of sleds. yes. an actual pile. and in his kitchen he has a harley. and in the livingroom he has 2 more harleys. all without an engine. he has one engine that you break your neck over as soon as you try to enter his house http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
he refused to pay his electricity bills last winter, so now a lot of pipes are broken (frozen and exploded) and he doesnt have a toilet. "but i can do it in the sink" was his comment...
i didn't dare to take pictures of his mess, was kind of afraid that he would kill me if i did.. as you could see it's a quite strange person so i had to be careful http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
the guy is called satan-claus by other people, for some reason http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Hey, Nico: I am always worried when introduced to someone who has unfriendly subtitles in his name. My favorite show is when they build atv's and do some real rock-climbing in them.

When there is nothing else on, it usually is. *Always entertaining, but I think its a little far fetched. *They must stock that junkyard with the proper supplies.

so the point of the show is actually who can give the best A-Team or McGuyver imitation? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
build useful stuff from a load of crap, that is.

I watched most of the episodes. They give me a couple of good ideas which i'm gonna try as soon as I have time, and $. Have you guys seen the one with snowmobiles ? That one was pathetic but kinda funny, 2 mph max and that was when *pushing the "sled". My favorite one was the walking machines, the one when they just welded rails to wheels of a jeep, that thing was jumping all over the place. I'm not sure they actually spend only 10 hrs to build those, The welding alone can take more then that.

http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif *There is always the parts they need hidden somewhere in the "junkyard". *I do like the show though and watch it fairly regulary. *Haven't seen the one where they build sleds yet though, that would be funny to see. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I think the coolest one I saw was where they built remote control subs... http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

The best part about the snowmobile episode is when they asked they guy how fast he expected it to go and he said 75mph. *LOL. *The thing only did like 2 and it only went 4 feet before it broke.

If I remember right, they used a MOTORCYCLE engine too *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif *I hope it's not a sign of things to come...

I like the drum from inside the washer with paddels welded to it for a track.

I try to watch it every so often. *I have to say the snowmobile one was pathetic. *Its impressive that they can get as much done as they do in that short amount of time.

I dont know if its really only 10 hrs. *I think they just let them go till there done. *

I love how at 9 hrs and 55 min they only *have a frame and 5 min later the car is running and ready to race.

Yeah but think if they didn't give them more time to build, the show would be boring. *They should have given the snowmobile show another couple of hours more to give them a chance to actually to get the things to move. *I thought that was one of the worst ones.

Did you see one of the more recent ones? *They were building fire-fighting boats and one group was full of computer nerds and the others mechanics, the nerds found all of the engines that were used, but when all of the nerds left their "home base" the mechanics went in there and stole emm!
