My 93 XLT SP, exact same sled with different decals and shocks was going over 11 000 miles on the original engine when i sold it, and that poor sled never had one easy day of riding in its entire lifetime. I think you have a good back up sled there for yourself.

I had a crank bearing go at 8000 miles.

My buddy has 12000 and still going.

had a 94 sp with tripple pipes its whole life that ran like a bat outta hell for 6xxx miles, then sold it.
guy i rode with had a stock 93 XLT with over 10000 miles before the motor hatched. A piston skirt broke off and went through the case, but that poor sled went through all his teenagers beating the living hell out of ti

Had a 95 XLt special. Beat this thing to death and it never let me down. Still being run every year by the guy I sold it to. Has 9000 miles on it now and still runs great. I did nothing to this machine except jet it down a little. Extra 12 suspension was a weak point but still a great machine.
