Mike, there's a stretch of Hwy. 11 south of Temagami that is kind of rough even when not towing a trailer. North & south of there it's OK. Looking at the map you might want to go to Notre Dame du-Nord from New Liskeard & go north on Quebec #101. That would save some time from taking #11 all the way to KL.

Hwy #101 is scary!! I took it a few years ago and almost drove right off the road in a few corners. On the way back I took the New Lisk. way and found it about the same timing as it was faster, but longer. Plus, all my equipment stayed in place!! I will be heading up after work on Friday night. I'm hoping that there are a lot of Country Styles on the way up!!

I have heard the portion south of Notre Dame du-Nord should be avoided ifyour towing a trailer. This was passed along when the Latchford bridge was closed a year ago.

I got a PM from Rottie a couple of days a go & he said norh of there isn't a problem, some hills.

How did the races go? Any faces there you didn't expect to see?

Hey Kris,

The races were pretty good. Practice on Friday was okay. They let us run about 10 laps at a time so it got pretty tiring at the end of each run. I was only out for about 20 laps but everything seemed to work good. I managed to get a 9th in the stock final, but could have done better than that as I got into a pileup at the bottom of the hill after the second lap before the tabletop. Not sure what happened exactly but I got trapped behind another sled with nowhere to go. Even got my left hand landed on by a ski on Sunday, bent the bars but was okay. Missing a little bit of skin and a bruise, and his carbide cut my glove but I was okay. Other than that I found 101 was not bad from New Liskard up, must have paved it not long ago. Anyway, I'll talk to you later.

How were the conditions up there? I was watching the weather and it didn't look the best for a race weekend. Hopefully you'll be OK for the Soo.

It looks like the Doo boys cleaned up. I noticed when I was working on my bib number list there weren't too many guys switching brands to jump on the IQ. You heard of the Kenneys switching early in the summer. Had you heard of anything back then about what the Poo 440 was going to look like? After the end of the season, the guys on Doos & Cats probably saw how the XCR440 ran & didn't want to chance messing up this season, so stuck w/ what they were familiar w/.
