im thinking about getting a new snowmobile, and for the type of ridding that i do i figured that the MX Z Renegade best fits my needs. 800 H.O. I was looking for some opinions on this machine, just to see what everyone thinks of it. thank you for your help

well, I dont have a rev renegade, but a zx renegade, and I love it. I've extensively ridden a rev 800 highmark summit, and a rev mxz, and I must say that my 800 renegade has them both beat, with the exception of the rev chassis. It is not too long of a track for trail riding and moguls, and can usually keep up with the mountain sleds in the steep and deep. Unless you live in Wyoming, Idaho, or Utah (in which case I'd recommend a Summit), a renegade is definitely the way to go. If you mostly ride the flatlands, I might suggest a 600 SDI for the excellent fuel economy... it is rare that you notice much difference between the 600 and 800 except in the steep and deep.

what performance differences would their be?, i know the 600 ho sdi would be better fuel economy ETC. , but between the 600 h.o and the 800 h.o your saying you really couldn't tell that much of a difference?

i was just at my dealer the other day talking about the mxz renegade, and he told me the x package is only available in the spring? is there any truth to that?

( instead of posting a whole new topic, i decided to add on to an old one )

someone should have a leftover X package 600SDI.

I got my 04 X package renegade in January of last year.

I've ridden both the 600ho, HOSDI and the 800 and the 800 is definitely not noticibly faster

its got a bit more jam on the top end but if you're buying a renegade, top end is definitely not what you're looking for.

I have put just about 400 miles on my 05 Rev Renegade and love the sled :D . I have the 600HO SDI and to me is the best engine that doo has came out with. GREAT fuel economy, Awesome power for a 600, and the ride is a A+. I don't know what your riding style is but I went with the 136" x 16" x 1.25" and that track just don't do it for me. So I am going to go with the 1.75" lug. The only thing that I see wrong with the sleds so far is that the rear suspension is soft and my dealer said allot of people have the same complaint, which is a easy Fix. Oh and one more thing which this is a Rev chassie problem. The FUEL GAUGE SUCKS!!!!

Other then that the sled is a A+
