Those that have done the trip to Moosonee, we would like to know who thought the trip was worth the three days. 6 of us will be coming to Cochrane in the end of Feb. and are considering the trip. Any input anyone has would be appreciated.

If you try a search there has been quite a bit of talk about the trip. I would like to know too. I can't recall if I had seen any post from someone who had actually done it. I'm thinking maybe next year.

Akron Orange, there are a bunch of us going up to Cochrane the week of March 1-7. There is also talk of some of them going on the ride to Moosenee, which YOU MUST HAVE A GUIDE, without one is certain death. Here is a couple links for threads

I met lots of people who did it without a guide for the first time when I have been in Cochrane. If I met them, they didn't die did they?
A very irresponsible statement

We are going to use a guide. We don't mind a little adventure, but extended rides on unmarked waterways are a bit extreme, some would say stupid.

I do appreciate all of your concern.

We are looking for people that have done the trip. We will have a week in Cochrane, our choices come down to doing the Moosonee trip, then some out and back trips, or doing a big loop for the week. We don't want to waste the time and additional $ if the consensus proves to be that people have not enjoyed the trip.

If you enjoy off trails and powder then you will love it. A good portion of the trip around a 1/3 is the trail up to fraserdale. It is the rest of the trip that a guide is needed. It is a maze of logging roads from there on up to the river.
IF you have the time and are able to doo it. A sled trip up to James bay will be most enjoyable and memorable. If you have the time spend an extra day in moosenee and do some touring around James bay.

Thanks permafrost.

Is there anyone else that has done the trip?
