Hey guys, i am new to snowmobiling and had a few questions. I used to ride quads and dunebuggys but now i am turning to sleds. I have been shopping for awhile and i think i found a really good deal and wanted your opinion on the deal and the sled itself. The sled looks like brand new i mean i would of thought it was an 04 if i didn't know any better there isn't any rust or even any signs of where and tear. It has a 1" studded track and and carbide skags. It honestly looks like it has been never used. and he put in brand new plugs and 4 extra plugs under the hood and two extra belts. One last thing it was bought in canada

Included:
2001 SXR700 with only 900 miles
Matching Helmet
Matching Yamaha Jacket
dollys for the track and skis

He wants $4500 for all that

Questions:
Am i getting a good price?
Is there any problems with this particular sled?
Is this good for trail riding?
How is the performance?
How is the Suspension?
What is the Top end like?
Can you ride it with two people on occasion?
Are there any pro's or con's for it being a canadian sled?
Are they expensive to maintain (relative to other sleds)?
Anything other info you could add

Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated, thank you ahead of time for any info you got.

and he also said he would through in a two snowmobile clam shell trailer with the protected floors for an extra $1000 is that a good deal too.

OK, I'll bite.... :D

That's a great sled. You'll have absolutely no problems with reliability, it's rock solid. There will be some that say that the chassis/suspension is outdated or sub-par, but for a beginner, I'm sure you'll think it's awesome!

A friend had the exact same sled. It's a very smooth and responsive engine. Excellent mileage. Not the fastest 700 out there, but definitely the sweetest motor (next to the SRX motor, of course... :p ). Handling is flat, corners awesome. If the trails are rough, be prepared for some pain, it's not the most plush riding sled.

If you're new to sport, it's probably a good choice. You shouldn't have to spend anytime fixing it, just riding....
