I was driving back home on a two-lane road and was following a semi hauling a trailer and he slowed way down, so I did the same. I couldn't see what was ahead of him, but knew if he slowed down he had a very good reason. I followed him pretty close and traffic soon built up behind me. *I soon had about 15 cars behind me but we only had 1\4mile to go before it became devided and a turn-off lane(to get on the inter-state) was available. 3 minutes, tops. Well, I hear this roar comming past me and this mini-van is passing all of us.[hay wagon was in front of semi in front of me) *Stupid SOB passed us all and a motorcyle was comming at us. My only guess is mini-van driver figured(guessed) that motorcycle driver would vere to his right and let stupid van driver past. I only hope that someone behind me got that guy's plate number. *It's a busy road, both ways that time of day and all the people behind me were very paitient, except for this A-hole. BTW Bike driver was alert and went to his right and let stupid guy pass us all. Thank God he was smarter than van-guy.

Stupid stuff like that happens all the time sadly enough. *It's no wonder there is so much road rage. *People like that need a little "rage" if you ask me! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

On Sunday when heading home I had a moron towing a boat pull out in front of the car ahead of me. There was a truck pulling a boat turning off ahead of the car, so I guess the moron figured he would jump out in front of us. Since the truck was pulling off, we had slowed down to less than the speed limit at this point (LadyK, southbound on 28 @ Burleigh Falls) which is 70 kph. Just south of this spot the speed limit goes back to 80 kph & there is a small sized hill. I can't see what is towing the boat & I'm doing 52 kph up the hill.

The road flattens out but because of curves you can't pass. By now there are about 6 cars behind me. When the road straightens out, I peek out to see that the way is clear. It is, so I pass the car & the boat. It's a Mystique or Contour obviously underpowered for the load) pulling the boat http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif

As I pass him I lay on the horn, he sticks his hand out to tell me I'm #1 *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif So I returned the favour. A few more of the cars passed him too.

My question is, "Why did the guy pull out in front of traffic, when it was obvious he couldn't keep up to the speed limit?"

One Friday afternoon on Hwy. 69 south of Parry Sound a huge line of traffic followed a 1/2 ton with a slide in camper for over 40 kms. The speed limit here is 90 & the driver was barely doing 80. There used to be signs in the early 80s on that stretch of highway saying to pull over on the paved shoulder to let others pass.

The signs are gone now, but those drivers that are considerate (myself included) still do to those following that may be faster.

I was the 4 vehicle in line, but couldn't pass due to the lack of passing lanes & southbound traffic.

I got one http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

We were going to get a burger somewhere, and needed to park the car. I thought I'd go in backwards. Idiot comes and races into my spot (forwards)

We get pissed, almost wanted to leave some marks on his car. But thinking won http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

About an hour later, and 50 km away from that spot, I slow down because the car in front of me is going to go right, right before one of those anti-speeding things where they make the road half as narrow as it should be. The cars behind me do the same. As we are waiting for the guy in front to turn, a car shoots by, almost hitting my car and the car that was about to turn. And guess what. It was the same ####ing idiot!

If I ever see him again I'll make sure he doesn't arrive wherever he's heading http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

LadyK & therest of the gang, it seems that in a tourist area all the idiots flock to them.

That's why back in the 80s I used to enjoy driving Hwy. 115 from Peterborough to Newcastle in the winter *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif After Thanksgiving until the May 2-4 weekend there wasn't a lot of traffic. To those that don't know, this highway in Ontario is flat & with a bit of snow visibilty was usually bad.

Now it's 4 lanes & there never appears to be any traffic. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well, in my case, that means that the person going faster is speeding, and the person going slower is driving under the limit. *I typically set the cruise control right on the marked limit.

As for my story:

About a year and a half ago, I'm driving to work on a two lane highway. *I see that I am catching up to a White Lincoln Town Car and a Ford Ranger pickup. *I'm in my Dodge truck.

I watch as the Ford Ranger hits the oncoming lane to pass the Town Car. *The a$$hole in the Town car SPEEDS UP!!

The driver of the Ranger pickup gives up and falls back in. *The Town car slows back down to 45 mph - I know this speed as I have pretty much caught up by this time. *I look at the oncoming lane and find it wide open (rare for this road), so I drop one gear and mash the throttle. *I wound up to the governor in 4th and went back to 5th, still accelerating VERY quickly. *Before the a$$hole in the Town Car knows what's happening, I'm ahead of him and back into the proper lane. *Now this jerk decides to ride my bumper untill we hit our first traffic light.

When the light changes, I hear him gunning his car, so I stomp on my throttle, and run the truck to the governor on every shift. *The best that this idiot can accomplish is a nice full view of the "Cummins 24 valve Turbo Diesel" emblem on my door, before he runs out of lane and is forced to back out of his little race. *We are both doing over 80 mph by this time, not quite 1/4 mile from the light. *

Better yet, one of my co workers who also lives out in my area saw the whole thing!! *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I wish that I could have seen the look on his face. *I'm sure that he had to be pretty ticked at bieng beaten by a 3/4 ton diesel truck. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

I've seen him smoke the tires with his daughters 3 horses loeded in a huge 5th wheel trailer. His daughter was to dam pissed. We laughed our arses off. It makes unreal power, over 700ft lbs. God Bless Gale Banks!!!!!

Driving in the car isn't nearly as bad as some boat drivers.

A couple of weeks ago, I was on my 27' Sea-Ray Sundancer. While coming out of Bolles Harbor, I see a jet-ski (a 2 seater) with 4 teens riding it! *And of coarse, the kid driving it wasn't bright at all and decided to follow us to get airborne off our wake, he does, and immediately after landing, does a 180 and loses the 4th person (who wasn't wearing a life-jacket) directly in the middle of a very busy channel. The thing that tickles me the most is that there was a police boat coming into the channel and he didn't do anything to him!

Hey Steve,
*I grew up boating out of Trout's Marina. Do you dock or trailer? Hot Spot still rules down there.I was stopped all the time as a youngster for having to much HP 25 on our inflateble. 20 was the max under some law do to my age or something and the wakes didn't help.

Sled dogg,

* * * * I live only a 5 minute walk from trouts and I have my boat docked at Monroe Boat Club, which is betweeen trouts and Harbor-Marine. *And yes, the hot-spot is still the place to be, the water temperature hasn't changed much since you were there. *I also have an inflatable, it only has a 15 hp evinrude but it seems to have a leak * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

OMG Steve,
Our sailboat was at MBC till a feqw years ago. Then it sat at toledo beach till it sold this spring. It was on the new dock section, a 33ft C&C named WILDTALK owned by my dad Duane Lamley ring a bell? It was the boat sitting thee till like Dec 13 or so of 1999 when the water was so LOW, stuck in the muck. They had a absolutly massive crane on stand by to remove it when we got the wind gods help. Insurace was real happy as it was going to cost them $15,000 to remove it from the water. We were at Trout's since like 83' I believe and at a MBC dock for several years. Small world for sure. I'm hoping to finally get my boat in the water and to the hotspot. Glad to hear it's still THE spot.

It is a small world, although I can't seem to remember that specific boat, (I don't like sailboats, too slow, but very fuel-efficient) I do remember a boat that just sat there.

Today on the way home from Apsley, a Cavalier rear ended a minivan about 50 yards north of where the idiot with the boat pulled out in front of us. Not much damage to the minivan, but all the fascia etc on the Chev was gone, hood bent up pretty good too. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

They were probably looking at the pretty rapids (accident happened on the bridge) and didn't see the stopped van http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif

not with a car, but a boat this time, this happened about 8 years ago or something..

I was waiting for a bridge over a canal (I lived in canal country Holland then). there was a some of boats on each side. On one side a giant sand transporting ship, which should get thru first cuz its kind of hard stopping those things.. on the other side a sailingboat, a quite nice one actually, maybe 10-12 meters long, I dont remember really. I remember it was quite big anyway. the sail and the whole mast (? dunno if this is a word) were folded down at that moment. Also, the bridge wasn't wide enough for the 2 ships to pass thru at the same time.

Anyway, the sand ship was approaching the bridge. And obviously the driver of the sailingship was blind or something, because he went as well. once he was in the hole in the bridge, he saw the giant ship coming right at him. A lot of panic followed after that of course... he was trying to get the #### out of there with his ship. which didn't quite work out as it should have. Instead of just backing out, he decided to turn his ship 90 degrees, getting stuck between the 2 ends of the bridge with his mast. You can guess what followed... the sand ship was going full speed reverse, but couldn't stop in time.... And it used the sailing ship for the last bit of breaking.. resulting in a broken mast and a lot more damage to it....

It was probably the worst day of that driver's life.. but I have to admit it was quite fun watching, cuz everyone could see what was going to happen, and that driver was just too stupid for words http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I was coming east across South Dakota this weekend, and this brand new Envoy comes blazing past me as we're passing thru *Rapid City. *I didn't think much of it; I was cruising at about 5 over, and if this guy wants to fly, that's his deal. *Anywho, about 15 miles down the road, this highway patrol comes flying by me, no lights no siren, but obviously with some place to go. *About 3 minutes later we pass the patrol on the side of the road, and there he's got that Envoy pulled over!

Oh, I got another stupid driver story.
2 1/2 weeks ago, one of the main stories on the radio was about this 56 y.o. guy that rolled his truck in the morning and died. *My little brother was over at my place a week later and it turns out this old guy was his coworker. *My brother was headed 100 miles to work (road construction) and dead man driving came up behind him and blew past him around the halfway point, not too far from my house. *I guess dead man driving always drives like a nut. *My brother caught up to him again on some dirt country road, but as soon as they hit pavement again dead man driving took off out of sight. *8 miles later my brother comes up to this corner and there's gravel all over the road and skid marks off the shoulder and this guys truck is down the embankment all trashed. *So my bro stops and runs down to check it out and find the guy face down near the truck dead as a doornail. *So he goes back up to the road and some other guy coming the other way stops. *They're in the middle of nowhere so my brother's gotta go 5 miles up the road before he gets a cellular signal to call 911. *When my brother got back the other guy had rolled the corpse onto it's back and *I guess he had a good chunk of skull missing. *The truck had cartwheeled over 100 yards, but the cops figured he got ejected after only about 50 feet, but he still came to rest near the truck. *The windshield ended up in the ditch on the other side of the road. *My brother walked three passes through the woods 10, 20, and 30 feet in along the roll path, but never found the tailgate. *The roll happened at 6:45 am, and it took until almost noon to get everything cleaned up. *As you can imagine, it was pretty unnerving for my brother. *At least he got the day off from work.
Oh yeah, and about a week or so before this, dead man driving had dumped his bike and gotten his girlfriend messed up pretty bad. *That was on the news, too.
This is what I like to call natural selection.
