Well, Have tackled the clutches. Have both off, and the TRA all apart. Working on the secondary. Compressed the helix, enough to get the snap ring off, now the helix will not come out. Tapping with a plastic faced hammer, and a little pressure with spring compressor, made the helix go farther in. Releasing the pressure, and tapping has not helped getting the helix out. Am I doing something wrong?
I have looked at the post and pics on the tech board ...seems like the helix should just come out under spring pressure!

This always happens for lack of maintanance :bash:
All you can do now is spray it with some penatrant [center shaft] and keep working it.
Once you get it apart use some very fine sandpaper to get everything back in shape then apply a thin film of anti-seaze to the shaft.
Make this a yearly maintenance item and this will never happen again.........

Special Thanks to Rhubard for his PM and Mikadoo. Worked the helix back and forth on the shaft with some penetrant. Got er apart. Will clean it up, put in new slider shoes. Thanks again for the help. SW rocks. l
